SUDBURY WOLVES MEDIA / SCOUTING NOTES

Wednesday, October 29th, 2025 | Sudbury Wolves vs. Soo Greyhounds

For the third time this season and this month, the Sudbury Wolves and Soo Greyhounds are set to face off in another northern rivalry matchup. These two teams met just over a week ago during OHL Rivalry Week, where each team defended home ice, splitting the home-and-home series. Tonight, the Wolves will look to protect the Den, while the Greyhounds aim to gain the upper hand in the season series. The Wolves enter the matchup sitting 5th in the Central Division with a record of 4-8-1-0, including a 3-1-1-0 record at home, and a 1-7-0-0 record on the road. The Greyhounds are currently positioned 2nd in the West Division with an 8-6-1-0 record. At home, the Greyhounds have a 4-3-1-0 and a road record of 4-3-0-0.

Now in his second OHL season, Jordan Charron has opened his sophomore campaign on a hot streak. Through 15 games, Charron has recorded 16 points (11 goals and four assists), placing him second in league goal scoring. A Greyhound hasn’t led the OHL in goals since the 1984-85 season, when Graeme Bonar did so with 66, making Charron’s early surge all the more noteworthy. This early success comes as little surprise following a solid rookie season, where he recorded 21 points in 48 games, a performance that earned him a selection by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fifth round of the 2025 NHL Draft. Known for his relentless work ethic and responsible two-way play, Charron has elevated his game this season, adding an offensive edge that has been a large part of the Greyhounds early success. As he continues to build on his impressive start, Charron is quickly establishing himself as one of the Greyhounds most dynamic and dependable forwards.

After a slow start to the early 2025-26 campaign, overage forward Alex Pharand has found his stride with an impressive run of performances. Pharand is currently riding a four-game point streak consisting of two goals and seven assists, helping the Wolves win three of their last four games and shake off their early-season struggles. This past Sunday against the Petes, Pharand recorded his 150th career point off an assist on Liam Ladds first goal as a member of the Wolves. Pharand makes up a trio of Wolves players to have hit the 150-point milestone this season, joining Jets prospect Kieron Walton and Kraken prospect Nathan Villeneuve. Playing for his hometown team, Pharand has made a significant impact within the Wolves organization, displaying leadership and professionalism both on and off the ice, qualities that led him to be named an alternate captain this season.
