SUDBURY WOLVES MEDIA / SCOUTING NOTES
Wednesday, November 19th, 2025 | Sudbury Wolves vs. Barrie Colts
The Sudbury Wolves and Barrie Colts are set to meet for the fourth time this season, and for the third time at the Sudbury Community Arena. The Colts currently lead the season series 2-1, most recently earning a thrilling 6-3 victory in Sudbury on Shoresy Night. Tonight, Sudbury looks to spark a winning streak of their own, while the Colts seek to remain one of the hottest teams in the league. The Wolves enter tonight's matchup sitting 5th in the Central Division with a record of 5-15-1-0, including a 4-5-1-0 record at home, and a 1-10-0-0 record on the road. The Colts are currently positioned 1st in the Central Division with a 10-7-1-4 record. At home, the Colts have a 7-4-1-2 record with a road record of 3-3-0-2.
The return of Emil Hemming to the Barrie lineup has boosted the Colts’ offence, turning them into a dangerous threat on any given night. The Finnish forward rejoined the club just over two weeks ago after a stint with the Texas Stars. In eight games since his return, Hemming has piled up three goals and 12 assists for 15 points, helping Barrie to a 6-0-1-1 run over that span. Hemming is also part of a talented trio of first-round NHL draft picks, with Islanders prospect Kashawn Aitcheson and Mammoth prospect Cole Beaudoin, who are all operating above a point per game clip. As the Colts continue to cement themselves as one of the East’s top teams, Hemming is expected to play a pivotal role in Barrie’s push up the standings.
Since returning from injury, Hudson Chitaroni has helped the Wolves turn things around and put an end to their losing skid. In just two games back, he’s already made a major impact, registering a goal and an assist. His goal came in the Wolves’ most recent matchup against Saginaw, where he ignited a dramatic last-minute third-period comeback. With 1:34 left on the clock, Chitaroni buried a power-play marker off a backdoor feed from Winnipeg Jets prospect Kieron Walton, pulling Sudbury even. Less than a minute later, with just 26 seconds remaining, Chase Coughlan iced the game, jumping on a turnover at the Saginaw blue line and finishing on a partial breakaway to secure a 2–1 victory. With the Wolves' losing streak now snapped, Chitaroni looks to help spark a turnaround and aid the Wolves in building momentum, getting repeatedly into the win column.

WOLVES FEELING THE HOLIDAY
SPIRIT A LITTLE MORE by Randy
Pascal
With the Holiday Season less than one month away, it’s a pretty safe bet that the Sudbury Wolves are feeling far more festive as they prepare for a two-game weekend that sees the team hosting the Barrie Colts on Friday and then visiting the Mississauga Steelheads on Sunday.
Snapping a five-game losing skid with a huge 9-2 win over the London Knights last Friday and then following that up with a timely 7-5 road win over the Oshawa Generals two days later, the Wolves closed off a busy stretch with a 5-3 loss Monday to the Peterborough Petes – though the homeside needed an empty-net goal with just nine seconds to play to seal the deal in this encounter.
A PERPETUAL PENDULUM WITH THE WOLVES AND THE COLTS
by Randy Pascal
A quick glance at the Central Division standings show, the Barrie Colts sitting right around the .500 mark at 10-11-0-0, with the Wolves five points ahead at 12-10-1-0, and the Colts recent record mirroring the swings back and forth. Barrie entered their matchup Thursday night with the Windsor Spitfires having dropped two straight and three of their last four; all of which came after the team won three straight between November 9th and the 11th
Even the season series’ between the divisional rivals falls victim to that same ebb and flow. The Wolves, for their part, will be happy to have picked up a 5-3 victory over the Colts in their only meeting this year to date, back on October 21st. The Pack have visions of the season series four years removed, where the 2019-2020 campaign saw Sudbury accomplish the rare eight game season sweep.
SUDBURY AND STEELHEADS TO MATCH STRENGTH VS STRENGTH by Randy Pascal
The Wolves and Steelheads will also be meeting for the second time this year come the Sunday afternoon battle at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre. While Mississauga has averaged exactly three goals against per games through 23 games to date, the Pack managed to bury five past Ryerson Leenders back on October 18th, including a pair from Landon McCallum and the first career OHL goal from Caden Taylor.
After erupting for a dozen goals in lopsided wins over Peterborough (7-1) and Erie (5-0), the Steelheads have been limited to just two goals in each of their last two games, a 5-2 loss to the Soo Greyhounds and a 3-2 overtime setback at the hands of the Guelph Storm.
For Sudbury, the line of Quentin Musty (nine points in his last three games), David Goyette (eight) and Dalibor Dvorsky (seven) are coming off a very encouraging weekend as they look to build some momentum heading into the second half of the 2023-2024 season.
