SUDBURY WOLVES MEDIA / SCOUTING NOTES
Saturday, November 15th, 2025 | Sudbury Wolves vs Saginaw Spirit
The Sudbury Wolves and Saginaw Spirit are set to clash in Sudbury’s only Saturday night home game of the season. This matchup marks Saginaw’s lone visit to the Nickel City and the first of two meetings between the clubs, with the Wolves set to return the trip to Saginaw on February 19th. Both teams enter tonight's contest hungry for wins as they aim to climb their way up the standings. The Wolves enter the matchup sitting 5th in the Central Division with a record of 4-15-1-0, including a 3-5-1-0 record at home, and a 1-10-0-0 record on the road. The Spirit are currently positioned 4th in the West Division with a 7-8-3-2 record. At home, the Spirit have a 3-5-1-2 record with a road record of 4-3-2-0.
The start of Spirit forward Nikita Klepov’s rookie campaign has been nothing short of exceptional. The talented forward currently leads all OHL rookies in scoring and ranks third overall in league scoring with 30 points (14 goals, 16 assists) in 20 games. 23 of those points came during October, earning Klepov OHL Rookie of the Month honours. Klepov’s offensive production has been remarkable, as he’s currently on pace for 102 points (48 goals, 54 assists) over a full 68-game season, a mark not reached by an OHL rookie since Alex DeBrincat posted 104 points with the Erie Otters in the 2014–15 season. This season also serves as Klepov’s NHL Draft-eligible year, and his strong play has already caught the attention of scouts as he received an “A” rating on NHL Central Scouting’s initial Players to Watch list, identifying him as a projected first-round candidate and a name to watch closely ahead of the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.
Now in his draft-eligible season, second-year forward Rowan Henderson has elevated his game while stepping into a bigger role in the Wolves' forward core. Through 20 games, Henderson has tallied four goals and six assists for 10 points, highlighted by a recent offensive surge, recording four points in his last three games. Alongside his evolving offensive game, Henderson’s defensive prowess remains impressive as he has been a crucial part of the Wolves' penalty kill, which is currently operating at 80%. Henderson’s strong defensive play and his recent uptick in scoring have solidified him as a true two-way forward and a player the Wolves will rely upon down the stretch. His well-rounded game and steady development makes Henderson a name to watch as the 2026 NHL Entry Draft approaches.

SHOWDOWNS WITH SAGINAW ARE ALWAYS SPIRITED AFFAIRS by
Randy Pascal
On Saturday night, the Wolves will entertain the Saginaw Spirit at home, marking the 22nd meeting of the teams in northern Ontario since 2002-2003. While players are likely unaware of the numbers, the team, as a whole, would certainly like to climb above the .500 mark in these games, all-time, currently boasting a home record of 9-9-0-0-3 against the Spirit.
Things started well enough for the local juniors, taking the first three matchups in Sudbury (2002 –2005), a run that was sparked by a 3-1 victory on December 13th (2002). A scoreless encounter into the second period of play would see the Wolves jump out to a 2-0 lead on tallies from Sean Grendus and Bobby Chaumont, before Grendus and Geoff Platt traded goals in the third as Joel Whitmarsh picked up the win between the pipes.
GAME NIGHT & PROMOTIONS
Saturday’s game is the Wolves' only Sudbury Saturday Night of the season, proudly sponsored by the Palladino Auto Group. Wolves Nation are encouraged to get to the arena when doors open, as retro Wolves toques provided by Palladino Auto Group will be given away throughout the lobby concourse!
LOOKING AHEAD
Following tonight's matchup against the Spirit, the Wolves will continue the homestand next Wednesday, November 19th, with a midweek clash against their Central Division rivals, the Barrie Colts, with game time set for 7:05 p.m. The homestand wraps up on November 21st when the Wolves welcome the defending Memorial Cup champion London Knights to the Den for another 7:05 p.m. puck drop. Tickets for all Wolves home games are available online at mpv.tickets.com or in person at the Sudbury Arena Box Office.
