SUDBURY WOLVES MEDIA / SCOUTING NOTES
Sunday, December 7th, 2025 | Sudbury Wolves vs. Oshawa Generals
Today, the Sudbury Wolves and Oshawa Generals are ready to square off for the first time this season. Last year, the teams met four times, with the Generals taking the season series 3-1. This afternoon’s matchup promises to be a competitive one, as both clubs look to climb up the Eastern Conference standings. The Wolves enter tonight's matchup sitting 5th in the Central Division with a record of 9-18-1-0, including a 7-6-1-0 record at home, and a 2-12-0-0 record on the road. The Generals are currently positioned 5th in the East Division with an 8-19-0-0 record. At home, the Generals have a 5-8-0-0 record with a road record of 3-11-0-0.
Acquired just over a month ago, overage defenceman Lucas Moore has quickly become a valuable addition to the Generals’ blueline. In 12 games with Oshawa, he has recorded four goals and two assists, bringing his season totals to six goals and five assists through 26 games and showcasing his effectiveness as a dependable two-way defenceman. One of the league’s most experienced blueliners, Moore is set to skate in his 260th career OHL game today, a testament to his durability and commitment to the game. He is also closing in on a personal milestone, sitting just four points shy of 100 career OHL points. As the holidays approach, Moore will aim to help push the Generals forward while pursuing his career 100point mark.
Now in his overage season, veteran defenceman Gavin Ewles has been a reliable and steady presence on the Wolves blueline. Since being acquired last season, Ewles has seamlessly integrated into the team’s defensive core, carrying over the success he found last year into this season. Through 27 games, he has tallied two goals and two assists while delivering strong defensive zone play and serving as a key contributor on the penalty kill. Ewles has also appeared in more games than any other defenceman currently on the roster and is on pace to reach his 200th career OHL game early in the new year, a testament to his longevity, durability, and consistent performance.
