SUDBURY WOLVES MEDIA / SCOUTING NOTES
Friday, December 12th, 2025 | Sudbury Wolves vs. Owen Sound Attack
The Sudbury Wolves and Owen Sound Attack are prepared to face off in their second meeting of the season, and the first at the Sudbury Community Arena. The last time the two teams matched up, it was Owen Sound who came out on top in a tight 4-3 victory. Now on home ice, the Wolves will look to square up the season series with Owen Sound. The Wolves enter tonight's matchup sitting 5th in the Central Division with a record of 9-19-1-0, including a 7-7-1-0 record at home, and a 2-12-0-0 record on the road. The Attack are currently positioned 2nd in the Midwest Division with a 17-13-0-2 record. At home, the Attack have an 11-5-0-1 record with a road record of 6-8-0-1.
Now in his first full-time season in the OHL, the 6-foot-8 New Jersey Devils prospect Trenten Bennett has delivered a strong start for the Attack thus far. He opened the year with his most impressive performance to date, turning aside 45 shots and posting a .957 save percentage to lead the Attack to a thrilling 3–2 overtime victory in their season opener against the London Knights. Through ten games this season, Bennett holds a 6-2 record with a 3.82 goals-against average and a .897 save percentage. With Carter George away representing Canada at the upcoming World Juniors, Bennett will play a critical role in the crease over the next few weeks as Owen Sound works to maintain its momentum and climb the Western Conference standings.
Originally selected by the Wolves in the fifth round of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection, Björn Bronäs is now in his first season in the Ontario Hockey League. After opening the year in the USHL, he joined Sudbury just three weeks ago and has already made an immediate impact in the crease. Bronäs debuted on home ice against the London Knights, backstopping the Wolves to an impressive 6–3 victory with 32 saves and a .914 save percentage, earning first-star honours. Through four games this season, Bronäs has picked up two wins while posting a 5.28 goals-against average and an .857 save percentage. As the season progresses, he will aim to further elevate his play and support the Wolves in their push toward the postseason.

WOLVES
WOULD LOVE THE (OWEN) SOUND OF A REPEAT PERFORMANCE by Randy Pascal
In their one and only meeting at home last year with the Owen Sound Attack, the Sudbury Wolves posted one of their most impressive wins of the year, trouncing the visitors 8-1 in February. Doing it all over again on Friday will not be an easy task.
That said, a win on Friday would mark the longest ever home winning streak against Owen Sound since the teams first met in 2000-2001. Taking a record of 11-12-0-0 (all-time – at home) into this matchup, the Wolves have seen this series wane back and forth on almost an annual basis more often that most of their other head-to-head franchise battles.
With the Wolves having dropped a 4-3 decision on the road in Owen Sound on November 1st, the Friday night affair marks the end of the line for these two to see each other in 2025-2026. That said, this marks the third time since 2003 that the teams have played each other on December the 12th specifically.
In 2015, the Wolves travelled to Owen Sound and were beaten by a final score of 5-3 as Nick Suzuki scored twice for the winners and Sean Durzi chipped in with another. Countering for Sudbury were Alan Lyszczarczyk, Mikkel Aagaard and captain Danny Desrochers.
In December of 2003, the Attack completed a season sweep of the Wolves as Sault Ste Marie native Patrick Jarrett snapped a 2-2 tie late in the second period, lifting Owen Sound to a 3-2 win in Sudbury. Bobby Chaumont and Rafal Martynowski in a contest that saw OHL heavyweights Zack Stortini and Adam Smyth drop the gloves off the opening puck drop, following a controversial bout in Owen Sound a few weeks earlier.
GAME NIGHT & PROMOTIONS
Friday’s game is proudly sponsored by Eastlink and, along with the Teddy Bear Toss, will feature a Chuck-a-Puck at the second intermission in support of Our Children Our Future.
LOOKING AHEAD
Following tonight's game, the Wolves are back in action this Sunday, where they wrap up the homestand against the Brampton Steelheads in the Wolves' third annual undie-sunday game, with puck drop set for 2:05 pm. Tickets for all Wolves home games are available online at https://mpv.tickets.com and at the Sudbury Arena Box Office.
The Wolves are then back on the road for a lone game where they head to Barrie to clash with the Colts on December 18th, with puck drop set for 7:00 pm. Fans can follow the Wolves on the road by streaming games live with FloHockey at www.flohockey.tv.
