Military captures 2 NPAs who torched agri-aircraft CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City––The military has announced the capture of two communist rebels who reportedly burned the agricultural aircraft and gas dump in Agusan Del Norte two months ago. Maj. Christian Uy, the spokesperson of the army’s 4th Infantry Division here, identified the suspects as Arnel Carduna Baguis a.k.a. Dindo, Brian, and Sherwin Plaza Villamor a.k.a. Erick. Baguis is reportedly the Commanding Officer of the Sub-regional command Sentro De Gravidad “Westland” and Villamor, is

an alleged member of the “Guerilla Front 30,” both of the New People Army’s (NPA) Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee. Uy said that the suspects were reportedly responsible in the burning of the agricultural aircraft and gas dump owed by the Mindanao Agri-Traders in the town of Tubay in Agusan Del Norte last Aug. 23, 2014. Mining firm helps Bohol earthquake victims rebuild school via Bayanihan By CHRIS V. PANGANIBAN Regional Editor-Caraga

ROSARIO, Agusan del Sur––They helped one another to maximize the reconstruction of the earthquakedamaged school buildings from a meager P1-million financial support fund donated by a mining company based here. And for such display of true Filipino bayanihan spirit, the parents, teachers and village officials of North Loon Central Elementary School in Loon town in Bohol have demystified

an old mistaken myth that Boholanos were selfish people who do not care for others’ welfare or more aptly called in the local vernacular as “Ija ija, Ajo ajo (yours is yours and mine is mine).” The rehabilitated 7-classroom three school buildings complete with fixtures and educational facilities were recently inaugurated by proud stakeholders of the project with lawyer Raul Villanueva, president and chief executive officer of Philsaga Mining Corporation, and other company executives attending the event.

The project was finished in only two months since the entire community members were involved in spending more time helping with the manual labor during the repair works , thus saving them at least P108,000 which were utilized to buy computers for the office and computer classes of students. NFA releases a new higher variety of rice

CAGAYAN de Oro City–– All accredited outlets of the National Food Authority (NFA) in Misamis Oriental are now selling a higher quality and affordable rice at P 32.00 per kilo, the NFA announced on Monday.
