Another Oro cop in ‘drug buy bust’ By CRIS DIAZ Executive Editor

CAGAYAN de Oro City–– Barely two weeks after agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) collared a policewoman for alleged drug trafficking, another police officer fell into the drug net, the PDEA said on Tuesday. PDEA Regional Director, Emerson L. Margate, identified the police officer as PO1 Darwin Maputi, 35, of Indahag, Cagayan De Oro City along with another suspect identified as Arsad Ayunan, of Marawi City. Margate said that the PDEA operatives nabbed the suspects during a “buy-bust” operation in a downtown barangay in Cagayan De Oro City last Sunday afternoon. Recovered from the suspects was one gram of dried marijuana leaves and about 5 grams of white substance believed to be “Shabu” (Methampethamine Hydrochloride) with an estimated street value amounting to P 40,000. GENERAL Santos City––Officials of Tantangan town in South Cotabato have raised alarm over the alleged massive land grabbing activities in two of its villages that is reportedly backed by an armed group. will stand trial for murder charges in connection with the 2010 killing of journalist, Nestor Bedolido Sr. According to news reports, Cagas surrendered to

authorities at around 7:15 a.m. on Monday before the court could issue a warrant for his arrest. This is, indeed, a positive development in the quest

for justice for our fellow journalist, Bedolido, said Jessie Casalda, chair of the NUJP Davao chapter. Despite being identified implicated in Bedolido’s
