ZAMBOANGA City – The mayors of 11 municipalities and one city of Basilan signed a manifesto Wednesday requesting the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to intensify operations against the Abu Sayyaf Group and neutralize it. The mayors stated in the manifesto that the ASG has been involved in a range of criminal activities such as extortion, kidnapping, bombing, and just recently an ambush that took the lives of six government soldiers. CAGAYAN de Oro City - New Jian Hua Mining Corporation under the leadership of Brian Ilarde in coordination with Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc. have donated another school building in Bukidnon. This time the recipient is the Kibenton Integrated School in Impasug-ong town. Executives of the company and representatives of the local government unit turned over the completed project on yesterday to the school administration.
