Cagayan de Oro’s largest hotel is staggering from a series of cancellations brought about by adverse travel advisories issued by diplomatic embassies based in Manila. DTI, OWWA ink pact to help OFWs The Department of Trade and Industry – Regional Operations Group (DTI-ROG) formalized a partnership with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) on September 6, 2016 to help repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) adjust on their return to the country through entrepreneurship. The Enterprise Development and Loan Program (EDLP) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between DTI and OWWA will implement joint and convergent programs, projects, and services for OFWs and their families who intend to pursue micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in support of the

reintegration program. DTI-ROG Undersecretary Zenaida Maglaya noted the current situation of OFWs, especially those who were displaced from Saudi Arabia after they were retrenched due to the oil crisis. DTI-Agusan Norte destroys 2,892 substandard products BUTUAN CITY – As a result of the Department of Trade and Industry’s intensified monitoring, 2,892 pieces of sub-standard products valued at P481,483 were confiscated from various establishments in the province of

Agusan del Norte. The substandard goods were subsequently destroyed on July 20, 2016 at the Covered Court of Barangay Doongan here in the presence of 95 individuals composed of representatives from DTI-Regional and

Provincial Offices, Doongan Barangay Captain Gilberto Enriquez, Konsumador Hong Butuan, store owners and local media practitioners. The products included 434 pcs. plywood, 1,048 pcs. assorted Christmas lights, 63 pcs. monobloc

chairs, 74 pcs. assorted extension wires, 8 pcs. DVD players, 2 pcs. steam iron, 116 pcs. starters, 325 pcs. switch, 79 pcs. lamp holder, 73 pcs. lighters, 10 pcs. electric fans, 168 pcs. assorted CFL, 1 pc.
