Caraga Wage Board launches newest Productivity programs

BUTUAN CITY – The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) in Caraga launched its Productivity, Innovation and Enterprise Development program last September 22, 2016 at Alberto’s Bed and Dine at T. Calo Street here.

The program is the newest among the Regional Wage Board’s productivity tools for private stakeholders in Region 13. It targets MSMEs to further improve competitiveness and to sustain viability through productivity improvement.

Under the program, three specific training workshops were simultaneously con-

ducted. These were Lean Manufacturing, Retail and Service and Innovation.

Lean Manufacturing focuses on reduction or elimination of wastes without sacrificing the quality and quantity of products. Retail and Service provides an in-depth orientation on the fundamentals of the Retail and Service sector. Innovation provides MSMEs basic innovation skills that will enable establishments to create new and value-adding ideas to innovate products or services for enterprise sustainability and competitiveness.

SMIC’s proposed bond issue assigned ‘PRS Aaa’ rating SM Investments Corporation (SMIC) announced that the Philippine Rating Services Corporation (PhilRatings) assigned a rating of PRS Aaa to SMIC’s proposed bond issue of P15.0 Billion, with an oversubscription option of P5 billion, for a maximum aggregate amount of P20 billion.

Corazon P. Guidote, senior vice president for investor relations, SMIC, said the bonds are part of the shelf offering of up to P50 billion in bonds that SMIC plans to undertake in the next three years.

The rating for SMIC’s outstanding bonds amounting to P27.3 billion was, likewise, maintained at PRS Aaa, Guidote said.

PhilRatings assigned a Stable outlook for the ratings for the proposed and outstanding bonds.

PRS Aaa is the highest rating assigned by PhilRatings, denoting that such obligations are of the highest quality with minimal credit risk and that the issuing company’s capacity to meet its financial commitment on the obligations is extremely strong, she said.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- To drum up the farm mechanization assistance of the agency, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DARFO 10) through the Corn Program recently turned over about P4.2 million worth of farm machineries and equipment to the provincial government unit of Misamis Oriental (PLGU-MisOr), in a simple ceremony held at the Provincial Capitol Grounds.

A total of two units farm tractor worth P1,810,000 per unit and two units silage chopper for P292,000 per unit were formally handed over to the province.

The PLGU-MisOr counter parted 10 percent of the farm tractors’ total project cost and the rest was shouldered by the DA-RF0 10, while the units of silage chopper were given to the province as full grant from the aggie dept.

PRDP-Caraga endorses P102-M worth of agriculture subprojects

BUTUAN CITY – After thorough deliberation, the Regional Projects Advisory Board (RPAB) of the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) in Caraga Region recently approved and endorsed for funding P102-million worth of sub-

projects (SPs) from different proponent groups.

Nineteen (19) of the SPs totaling P80 million are under the Enterprise Development portfolio aimed at increasing farmers’ individual income and benefit the various associations and cooperatives. These include project proposals on Geonet

Production and Marketing, Rice Production and Trading, Seaweeds Production and Marketing, Cardava Production and Marketing, Banana Consolidation and Marketing, Bangus Production and Marketing, and Abaca Production and Marketing.

During the deliberation,

PL ACING student teachers in K-12 learning environments to mentor, teach and do other forms of outreach is a well-known strategy. It is known that these student teachers gain specific skills in mentoring, teaching and communications during their experiences. It is also documented that they gain personal satisfaction, see it as their professional responsibility and seek to gain these practical skills in a wellstructured program.

Biblical reflection

For the students, every minute of the experience is precious. The undergraduates will surely acquire true expertise in their field. What makes this program special is that the skills and practice problems have been reviewed by scientists in multiple departments at a particular schools division.

The Philippines must collaborate with other countries so there will be a sharing of scientific data. Thus, scientific institutions and other organizations have the moral

and recognitions at your own stake as well.

As a school head, we must, as always encourage and cultivate our coworkers to be always the best in everything they do. Aside from leading and guiding the school to success, definitely academic success, we must as well cultivate leadership among schools, among teachers, among divisions, and most significantly among regions. Tangub City Division CI Team Starts the Journey

The group of five members namely Marilou S. Galvez - team leader, Danilo S. Yolim - assistant team lader, Virginia S. Bagaboyboy - records keeper, Dorothy P. Neri documenter and Joselito B. Rosalijos – IT incharge coming from the Division of Tangub City attended the 5 days Continuous Improvement (CI) Training on September 5-9, 2016 at Fortuna Hotel, Cebu City. It is expected that after the training, the team will undergo a One (1) CI project to be studied and continuously workout within 6 months with the constant guidance of the designated coach. The team also need to meet the coach once a week or every Thursday to present the output as a

progress of the study. It is also an opportunity for the coach to critic or process the output and continuously mentor the team.

September 21, 2016 the Division CI team starts the journey as the group presented the Project proposal to the coach of Region 10 Mr. Arcie G. Mallari at Regional Conference Room, Regional Office, Cagayan de Oro City. The team presented two (2) proposals: Tangub Rewards Process and the Human Resource Development process. The Tangub rewards process that will trace the problems encountered during the implementation of the program and its hindrances to achieve the Division targets was then chosen by the coach and the team as the subject for Continuous

Improvement.

The team will have to meet every Monday of the month to plan the next steps as an output to be presented to the coach every Thursday of the week. The next encounter meeting with team and the coach is September 29, October 6, 13, 20 and 27, November 3, 10, 17, and 28, December 1, 8, 15, 2016, January 5, 2017, February 2, 16, and 23, 2017.

After the 6 months CI practice of the team and when the project has been successfully studied and rolled out to the field, the individual team members will be recognized as a certified CI trainers and coaches and implement the CI advocacy in the entire Division of Tangub City. #jbr

Globe drive versus unauthorized signal boosters yields arrest of illegal seller Globe Telecom’s campaign against the use of illegal repeater has led to the arrest of an individual suspected of selling such equipment.

A recent joint entrapment operation between police authorities and Globe security personnel led to the arrest of Raymundo Canete, a 28 year-old resident of Block 69, Sitio Panghulo, Floodway, Barangay San Juan, Taytay, Rizal. Canete is allegedly the delivery boy of Mark Lewis Chua, a resident of Lot 17, Block 1, Ather St., Greenwoods Executive Village, Pasig City, who is allegedly engaged in selling signal booster/ repeater through online selling portal OLX. Based on a report made

by QCPD District Special Operation Unit, Globe investigator Eddie Catalo sought police assistance in addressing online selling of illegal repeaters. Acting on Catalo’s report, DSOUQCPD led by PINSP Danilo Sonbgalia conducted entrapment operation at the corner of General Santos

and General Roxas Sts. (in front of PNB Farmers’) in Cubao, Quezon City. The entrapment operation led to the arrest of Canete right after he handed a set of signal repeater to Catalo in exchange for P1,000.00 used as a marked money.

Seized from Canete were 1 unit of signal booster, 1 unit of repeated amplifier and 1 unit of signal antenna. Police authorities recommended the filing of appropriate criminal case against Canete and Chua.

National Telecommunications C ommission Memorandum Order No. 01-02-2013 prohibits the sale, purchase, importation, possession or use of signal boosters operating on the 800 megahertz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, and 2100 MHz frequency bands without the approval of the regulatory agency. Violation could entail penalties and even imprisonment. Online selling of illegal repeaters is also in violation of Section 4 (a) of RA10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. According to

any permit from the NTC, causes network interference that that could result in dropped calls, garbled lines, and weak signal.

ZAMBOANGA CITY -The National Housing Authority (NHA) and the city government on Wednesday turned over 487 houses on stilts to families displaced during the 2013 Zamboanga siege.

Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the permanent shelters were constructed in Valle Vista, Barangay Kasanyangan and the beneficiaries are displaced families from Barangays Mariki and Rio Hondo.

Salazar joined the NHA officials in the turnover of the houses on stilts.

Salazar said that 259 of the 487 units turned over are located in Valle Vista Phase I and the remaining 228 in Phase II. She said the 487 families comprise the first batch of housing beneficiaries in Valle Vista, which will be constructed with a total of 3,405

houses on stilts.

The beneficiary-families are happy as they now have their own houses after waiting and staying for three years in transitory sites and with their relatives.

The barangays of Mariki and Rio Hondo were among the areas that were greatly affected during the 21-day siege in 2013.

The siege started on September 9, 2013 when hundreds of Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) members loyal to MNLF Chairperson Nur Misuari infiltrated and laid sieges in five coastal barangays of this city.

DPWH Secretary Mark Villar sent Soguilon to evaluate the implementation of the Zamboanga City Roadmap to Recovery and Reconstruction (Z3R) projects after Salazar complained of the slow phase in the implementation of the Z3R.
