Emano orders body search of all prov’l jail personnel

MISAMIS ORIENTAL - Provincial Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano has ordered all jail personnel in the provincial jail to undergo a thorough body search before they would be allowed to enter the premises of the Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail (MOPJ).

Emano issued the order effective Wednesday after the local police and the jail personnel recovered six sachets of the illegal “Shabu” (Methamphetamine Hydrochloride) in the room of one of the inmates during a surprise search last Monday.

During an interview with a local radio reporter, Emano has expressed the

apprehension that the illegal “Shabu” gained entry in the provincial jail only with the connivance of the jail guards.

He said that effective immediately all jail guards who will report on duty in the provincial jail should now undergo a body search like any ordinary visitor.

Barangay chair, 3 others Zamboanga Norte cops arrest nabbed in anti-drug ops in 2 known drug personalities, seize Sarangani, GenSan, SoCot guns, bomb-making components Z A M B OA N G A C I T Y -– Two known drug personalities were arrested and another eluded arrest while bomb-making components, guns, ammunition and illegal drugs were seized in separate law enforcement operations in Zamboanga del Norte, an of f icia l announce d Thursday.

Senior Supt. Edwin Wagan, Zamboanga del Norte police director, identified the arrested drug personalities as Rene by Andalop, 37, and his wife, Shelmie, 34.

Wagan said the Andalop couple was arrested in a law enforcement operation through the serving of search warrant around 10 a.m. Wednesday in Barangay Tipan, Gutalac, Zamboanga del Norte.

Wagan said the couple had sold a sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as “shabu” for PhP1,000 before the policemen served the search warrant.

He said the team that served the warrant recovered six heat-sealed plastic sachets of shabu; PhP1,000

marked money; a caliber .45 pistol with four ammunition; a caliber .357 magnum revolver with six ammunition; and a hunting knife.

He said Francisco Retuya also known as Cresencio Lipang Jr., eluded arrest when the police ser ved search warrants at his residence and rest house in Barangays Tipan and Bacong, respectively.

Retuya’s son, Ronie, who was at the residence, was placed under investigation although he is not the subject of the search

warrant.

Wagan said the policemen, during the search, recovered the following: 25 pieces blasting caps; one roll blasting cord; six cut blast cords; eight packs of bomb-making components; a shotgun; two caliber .45 pistols with ammunition; a caliber .22 pistol also with ammunition; PhP143,000 cash; and two disposable lighters.

He said the arrested suspects were detained while appropriate charges are being prepared for filing against them. (PNA)

KIDAPAWAN CITY -- Representatives from the city government and Department of Energy (DoE) led the switching on of the National Intensified Household Electrification (NIHE) program that would initially energize 150 of the targeted 2,000 households in six remote villages here.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY) -- Police operatives arrested a barangay chairman who was listed as an alleged “narco-politician” and three other persons in separate anti-drug operations here and in the provinces of Sarangani and South Cotabato on Wednesday.

Supt. Maximo Sebastian, chief of the Police Regional Office 12’s regional anti-illegal drug special operations task group, said Thursday they nabbed barangay chair Allan Loquias in a raid at his house in Purok Daisy, Barangay Lomuyon in Kiamba town in Sarangani.

He said they recovered from Loquias’ house a rifle grenade and several live bullets for a handgun.

The raiding team also swooped in on the house of Lomuyon barangay councilor Danny Dumalagan and found a 40mm mortar shell and assorted ammunition, he said.

But he said Dumalagan was not around during the operation, which was based on a search warrant issued by the Sarangani Regional Trial Court.

Sebastian said they subjected the suspects to intelligence and surveillance operations prior to the raid.

“Based on the information that we gathered, he (Loquias) is an illegal drug user and categorized as a protector,” he said.

He said Loquias had been allegedly using metamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.

The police official ex-

plained that elected officials who are using illegal drugs are considered as protectors “because (they) are tolerating or consenting individuals” who are also involved in it.

He said Loquias and Dumalagan will be charged with illegal possession of explosives and ammunition.

But Loquias insisted that he is not a “narco-politician” and had not been involved in any way in illegal drugs.

He also denied owning the rifle grenade and bullets that were reportedly seized at his residence.

“I have no idea about them and don’t engage on that thing (illegal drugs),” he told reporters.

Meantime, elements from the city police’s anti-illegal drug special operations task group (Caidsotg) arrested a security guard in a buy-bust operation on Wednesday afternoon.

Sr. Insp. Oliver Pauya, Caidsotg chief, they nabbed suspect Abdurahman Salipin in an entrapment in Purok 20 in Barangay Fatima here.

He said Salipin, who yielded a sachet of suspected shabu, is allegedly a “runner and middleman” for a drug supplier operating in the area.

In Polomolok, South Cotabato, police operatives also arrested suspects Omar Ayao and Mandangan Naway in a buy-bust operation along the national highway in Barangay Sulit.

What he meant to say was that, every Filipino who had been professing his faith in God actually did not have God at all. That many Filipinos who say they believe in God are fake believers. Though they voice out their faith in God daily, God is not really in them. Encouraging pupils to improve their academic performance

Aside from facilitating the learning process of the pupils and providing them the best and quality education, one of the functions of us teachers also is to encourage them to do better and improve their academic performance the best way possible. And definitely, it cannot be denied that this factor can contribute so much when it comes to the improvement and progress of the pupils’ academic performance.

Yes, duly encouraging our pupils is a way more to go. Let us not stop only to the point when we have

delivered and provided the quality of education they ought to deser ve, but we should never stop imparting them the knowledge until the end. According to studies, pupils who are more encourage and more elated perform and do good in their academic performance and some land in the honour list. Yes, encouraging pupils helps a lot plus it further intensifies their self-esteem and self-confidence.

Now, how can we encourage our pupils to perform better?

Before this Court verified joint petition for the approval and registration of the Divorce filed by the petitioners and alleging among others.

That petitioners are husband and wife respectively in a marriage performed under Islamic Law on October 5, 2015 at Dumaguete City , they converted to Islam faith, of which conversions to Islam were duly registered with this court, both of them can be served with summons and other legal processes relative to this case at their residents at Iligan City respectively..

That said marriage did not last long due to lack of love and affection until the relationship manifested incompatibility and sustained misunderstanding between petitioners and reached the point of irreconcilability and they separated from each other,they decided to separate live physically in bed and board thereby, executed Memorandum of Agreement in order to formalize their separation. Since their separation, they had never been communicating or supporting either financially or emotionally to each other,neither minding each other affair’s; Petitioner’s seek judicial decree of divorce, thereby, severing their marriage bond on October 5, 2015, so that they will have free hand to do what a single man or woman could do without marital burdens.

Reconciliation between them had already been diligently employed but all proved futile.

WHEREFORE, finding this petition to be sufficient in form and substance, set the initial hearing of this case on October 7, 2016 at 9:00 a.m at which time, date and place. Any interested party may appear and show why the petition should not be granted. Let copy of this Order be published in a news paper of General Circulation in the City of Iligan once a week for three (3) consecutive weeks at the expense of the petitioners.

As respect begets respect, some educators failed to realize that respect is a two-way street, is a twoway process; that as much as we want to be respected, we should, with the highest regard, respect our pupils also as it is very important in boosting teaching effectiveness, not only in the classroom but throughout life in general.

I, personally, have high respect with them, the pupils. It has been instilled in my mind and heart that my goal and purpose is not only to provide quality education to them and further facilitate learning for them but there is more than being a teacher, there is more than being a

second parent to the pupils, thus, amidst everything, respect should always be on the top, regardless of the religion, race, identity, culture, beliefs, and everything.

Now, how can respect boost one’s teaching effectiveness?

Here are some effects and influences of respect, yes based in on hand experience and classroom experience.

One, if the pupils feel that they are respected, that they are valued, the most they will give more than what is expected of them. Same thing as the saying goes, “Treat me right and I will treat you even better”; it applies to everyone else. Basically, if one is treated the right way, they will give you things even better, even greater but if you do not treat them the right way, for sure, expect for some reckoning and differentiated differences between your pupils. As relationship is the most important thing to be valued, it is the most important things also to be withstand no matter what.

Second, it the pupils see that they are being respected

and valued, they will perform more in their academics, their confidence and selfesteem will be elated as well as they will study and work hard for they are being given attention to. The most, as a teacher, never show nepotism, never portray favouritism in class. Treat them all fairly and equally. By then, your pupils will respect you as well, plus, the least you expect it, the more they will give.

Finally, respect is the most significant attitude we can impart to our pupils. It is the most cherished attitude one deserves and one seeks to receive. Let us not only colour respect in the classroom but to everyday of our lives. If we have it, we will gain respect more. Respect not only the pupils, respect not only the co-teachers but respect everyone in and out of the school, be it if he or she came from the least when it comes to economic status, instead respect everyone you will encounter along the way. Republic Cement, TESDA training program produce new welders for industry The Republic Cement Group, a leading cement and building materials manufacturer and construction solutions provider, continues the success of its community development initiatives as 147 graduates of its Iligan Plant’s skills training program recently received National Certificates II (NC II) in Shielded and Arc Welding from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

“Republic Cement is firmly committed to the development of our host

communities, including providing relevant skills training that can translate into employment opportunities both here and abroad,” said Renato Sunico, president of Republic Cement and Building Materials, Inc. (RCBM).

The newly certified welders represent the second batch of trainees under the program, which has since produced over 200 graduates. The project mostly benefits indigent and unemployed members from its two neighboring communities, Barangays Kiwalan and

Acmac in Iligan City.

Under the program, which is implemented in partnership with TESDA and the Barangay Councils of Kiwalan and Acmac, scholars undergo a total of 324 hours of intensive training in order to receive a certificate. NC II is part of TESDA’s Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET) Qualification and Certification System, which validates that its program graduates are equipped with the technical aptitude in all relevant competency
