Zubiri fires provl govt worker nabbed for drugs By GERRY LEE GORIT Correspondent

CAGAYAN de Oro City-Bukidnon Gov. Jose Maria Zubiri Jr. has ordered the termination of a provincial government employee after he was arrested by antinarcotics agents during a raid in his home Saturday morning.

In a statement, Zubiri said Marlou Madrial is considered out of employment starting Monday. The governor has also denied Madrial is one of his close-in security members. “Marlou Madrial is not a bodyguard assigned to provide security to me. I have terminated his service

as Administrative Aide 4 effective [Monday], for loss of trust and confidence, being a co-terminous employee. He has never been a part of my close-in security group,” Zubiri said. According to a report, a search warrant was served in Madrial’s residence in Purok 1, Barangay Gutapol,

Kibawe, by PDEA-10 agents Saturday morning. Taken during the raid was suspected shabu weighing about 25-30 grams with estimated street value of P112,000, the report added. Zubiri said he wants to be transparent on this issue and reiterated he has never condoned illegal drug
