Northern Mindanao’s ‘Kahimunan 2016’

Participated by 29 entrepreneurs from Bukidnon Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and all other MSMEs of Northern Mindanao’s five provinces, the trade expo’s combined record sales are closing in on P2,508,420.89, of

which Bukidnon generated P917,378.89 total sales.

Department of Trade and Industry - Bukidnon Provincial Director Ermedio J. Abang said overall trade fair sales report ranked Bukidnon as the top seller among four other provinces in Northern Mindanao, sharing 37.92 percent of the region’s more than P2.5 million total sales.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – A regional consultation workshop was held in Cagayan de Oro city on 15 September, to come up with a comprehensive development plan for the youth.

The ideas, inputs, and good practices gathered will form part of the Philippine Youth Development Plan (PYDP) 2017-2022.

National Youth Commission (NYC) Assistant Secretary Earl Saavedra said the activity intends to sustain the vision for the youth, pursue its goals and reset the priorities.

“PYDP is anchored on three major blueprints, the United Nations Program of Action for the Youth, Sustainable Development Goals and the Philippine Development Plan, to achieve something worthwhile,” Saavedra said.

It is the agenda of the NYC to institutionalize the implementation of the PYDP, acknowledging the youth’s lack of ownership to the blueprint, he stressed that development through localization which is part of the concept of federalism,

I am deeply honored to have with us on this momentous occasion the highest government official in the region, ARMM-REGIONAL GOVERNOR MUJIV S. HATAMAN. I am doubly honored because another highest government official in the province is also with us, PROVINCIAL GOVERNOR BAE BEDJORIA SORAYA ALONTO ADIONG. To add to that honor and pleasure, I cannot help but feel, is the presence of my big brother, VICE GOVERNOR MAMINTAL “BOMBIT” ALONTO AIONG JR., without whom Lanao del Sur wouldn’t have developed and progressed this much. I am proud that the Newly Crowned Sultan has chosen this venue to spend his first few days as SULTAN SA BACOLOD, ATTY. NASHROLLAH B. CONDING. When I say wrong decisions, I meant simple decisions gaya ng pagtatapon ng basura sa di tamang lugar, makasakit ng kapwa, di pagpapahalaga sa oras ng trabaho at iba pang malingdesisyon.

In other words, it is us who build the kind of life that we want live in. a fruitful, happy and peaceful life is a choice. The other way around is a life we also choose to become. We experience traffic, troubles, unsanitary environment, and the like ALL BECAUSE WE CHOOSE TO EXPERIENCE THEM. We should not blame one another. Instead, we must have close coordination from the households, barangays, all different sectors, and schools, to the local government unit to make the existence of MARAWI more meaningful to us and the next generations of our community.

My office and the Sangguniang Panlungsod had exerted all efforts to have this celebration on the 19th of August but because of the numerous concerns of our constituents and the transition period we have been going through as a new administration, we had to move the date and still continue the celebrations despite those constrains.

We cannot afford not to celebrate because this occasion is the foreshadowing of our dreams of making this city a better place for us and future generations to come.

Together, let us give thanks and praise to Allah for his infinite goodness, and pray for his continues guidance in all of our endeavors especially in our efforts to build a lasting legacy of a liveable and sustainable world for future generations to enjoy.

NOTICE of hereby served pursuant to the provision of Section 254, Republic Act No. 7160 (The Local Government Code of 1991 )real property tax due for Calendar Year 2016 and previous years, has become delinquent with respect to the following:

Penalty for delinquency; Failure to pay the real property tax during the period of payment without penalty of the quarterly installment thereof shall subject the taxpayer to the payment of interest at the rate of two percent (2%) per month or a fraction thereof.

Further, unless the tax surcharges and penalties are paid before the expiration of the year for which the taxes due except when the notice of assessment or special levy is contested administratively or judicially pursuant to the provisions of Sec. 226 of RA 7160, delinquent real property will be sold at public auction, and the title of the property will be vested in the purchaser, subject, however, to the right of the delinquent owner of the property or any person having legal interest therein to redeem the property within one (1) year from date of sale.

DELINQUENT TAXPAYERS are, therefore, requested to pay their delinquent tax or installment thereof to forestall filing of judicial action against the delinquent realty owners and/or the inclusion of the property in the list of delinquent properties to be sold at public auction.

PDIC urges depositors to file deposit insurance claims in closed banks before expiry date Insured depositors have 2 years from date of closure to file their claims The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) urged depositors of the closed Rural Bank of Caba (La Union), Inc., Peñafrancia Rural Bank of Calabanga (Camarines Sur), Inc., and Rural Bank of Villaviciosa (Abra), Inc. to file their deposit insurance claims before the expiry period. The PDIC Charter provides that depositors have until two years from bank closure to file their deposit insurance claims with the PDIC either through mail or personally during business hours at the PDIC Public Assistance Center, 3rd Floor, SSS Bldg., 6782 Ayala Avenue corner V.A. Rufino Street, Makati City.

The PDIC reiterated that all valid claims will be paid.

In accordance with the

provisions of the PDIC Charter, the last day for filing deposit insurance claims in the closed Rural Bank of Caba and Peñafrancia Rural Bank of Calabanga is both on December 11, 2017; and January 8, 2018 for Rural Bank of Villaviciosa. PDIC concluded the onsite claims settlement operations for these three closed banks more than six months ago.

The PDIC shall no longer accept any deposit insurance claims filed after the said dates. Depositors may, however, still file their claims against the closed banks through PDIC as liquidator. Payment of claims will depend on the sufficiency of the assets of the closed banks and shall be subject to the approval of the Liquidation Court.

Rural Bank of Caba and Peñafrancia Rural Bank of Calabanga were ordered closed by the Monetary Board (MB) and placed under PDIC receivership during the fourth quarter of 2015 while Rural Bank of Villaviciosa was placed under receivership during the first quarter of 2016.

The PDIC reported that as of June 30, 2016, it had paid PHP16.6 million for Rural Bank of Caba, PHP38.5 million for Pe ñafrancia Rural Bank of Calabanga, and PHP1.9 million for Rural Bank of Villaviciosa, or an aggregate of PHP57.0 million in deposit insurance claims to depositors of the three closed banks involving a total of 1,565 accounts.

Estimated deposit insurance claims collectively amount-

ing to PHP7.5 million for 589 accounts have not been filed by depositors of Rural Bank of Caba (756 accounts), Peñafrancia Rural Bank of Calabanga (671 accounts), and Rural Bank of Villaviciosa (138 accounts).

Depositors of said closed banks are advised to present the general requirements for filing deposit insurance claims, such as their original evidence of deposit and two (2) valid photo-bearing IDs with signature of the depositor, to the PDIC representatives at the Public Assistance Center. Depositors may also file their claims through mail and enclose the same set of required documents together with a duly accomplished Claim Form. The PDIC will not accept claims which are incomplete or lacking in

requirements.

The PDIC also reminded depositors who have been notified of deficiencies in the documents submitted to support their deposit insurance claims to comply with the requirements to facilitate release of their claims.

In addition to the general requirements, depositors who are below 18 years old should submit either a photocopy of their Birth Certificate issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO) or a duly certified copy issued by the Local Civil Registrar. Claimants who are not the signatories in the bank records are required to submit an original copy of a notarized Special Power of Attorney of the depositor or parent of a minor depositor.

All depositors who have

outstanding loans or payables to the bank have to coordinate with the duly authorized PDIC Loans Officer prior to the settlement of their deposit insurance claim.

The procedures and requirements for the filing of deposit insurance claims are posted in the PDIC website, www.pdic.gov.ph. The Claim Form and format of the Special Power of Attorney may also be downloaded from the PDIC website.

Greenwich Xavier launches #5-55-55 delivery hotline

GREENWICH Pizza – Xavier branch in Cagayan de Oro joined last Wednesday its new nationwide unified delivery hotline #5-55-55 through a motorcade launch in the early morning.

According to Greenwich Xavier restaurant manager Ritchel Tugahan, the delivery hotline is applicable to Greenwich Xavier and Greenwich Gaisano branches. “If our customer comes from the western side, then we will accept the order and tap our Gaisano branch to do the delivery,” she said.

The new hotline #555-55 was launched in Metro Manila early in the year followed by the Davao City.

Cagayan de Oro was the third city in the country to join the unified delivery hotline.

“We conceptualized the new hotline so it would be easy for all our valued clients to order whether they’re using landline or cellphone,” Tugahan said.

Greenwich Xavier accepts free delivery within the confines of Cagayan de Oro for a minimum purchase of P200.
