After the deadly blast in Davao City, President Rodrigo R. Duterte declared a “state of lawlessness violence” in the Philippines (Bartolome,2016/GMA News). With this declaration, the strength of our country has been challenged. However, we will remain standing and suppress lawless violence if only every family constructs a building block of integrity replenished with honesty and unity. Why it is there is a need to declare state of lawlessness violence in the Philippines? Salvador Panelo, Chief Presidential Counsel, identified four reasons, mainly- drug menace, criminality, terrorism and the ASG problem (Damicog 2016/Philippine

News Agency). These are the existing problems that prompted the president to declare the Philippines under state of lawlessness violence. It is indeed the right decision to do to counter the bombing of Davao City and to keep the people safe as possible. The declaration also is constitutional because base on Article VIII Section 18 of the Constitution, as Commander in Chief, the president has an authority to declare such ‘whenever it becomes necessary to call out the Arm Forces of the Philippines to suppress lawless violence, invasion and rebellion.’ It might be that there is a rampant violence in this country and our strength as a nation must not be weakened.

Upon facing this problem, Confucius teachings are very applicable in our educative process. It can be a bedrock of once personality, that will stimulate positive behavior. His teachings are relevant in molding a society free of chaos and trouble. One of these virtues is Li, the companion virtue of jen. It is translated as ritual, propriety or etiquette. The first sense of Li is the concrete guide to human relationships, which emphasized on the way things should be done in social life (Rainey, 2010). Noticed that the three of the five relations involve family; family is the basic unit of the society. Thus, Confucius stressed that the strength of the nation comes from

the integrity of the home. It reiterates on the proper upbringing of the child at home which will help in the transformation of the society. The second sense is on the principle of social order, ritual, ordering of life and conforming to the norms of jen. Every action affects someone else. So, ones right ends when the rights of others begin. The virtue of Li is really needed in the society, especially that the country is fighting on terrorism, illegal drugs and criminality. Sudden and continuous ringing of the bell, alarms the pupils of San Vicente Elementary School, Baungon District, as they join the National Earthquake Drill last Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 9:00 o’clock in the morning. Unaware of the activity, the pupils hurriedly do the drop, cover and hold. After the ringing, they immediately rush outside their classrooms and proceed to the designated evacuation center of the school. This is the second earthquake drill for this school year, and so some pupils just enjoy it, but the others really take it seriously, even feel shock and tense. The different Teams led by the teachers with their members, proceed to their assigned areas and

are ready to perform their respective functions in case of need. Busy teams are the Communication Team, lead by Ms. Mylah Faye A. Diocson, Search and Rescue Team with Mr. Vincent B. Uy during its regular session Monday adopted a resolution favorably endorsing and interposing no objection to the separation of Tagpangi National High School-Tuburan Annex from its mother school, Tagpangi National High School, to be named as Tuburan National High School. The resolution was endorsed by the committees on education and on laws and rules chaired by Councilors Suzette MagtajasDaba and Ian Mark Nacaya, respectively, in response to the resolution of the Barangay Council of Tuburan. Aside from those, every meeting with the parents of the beneficiaries, there is always a spiritual lecture to be done to infuse values formation and a komostahan. The Bahandi and OKB Trade Fairs are annual events facilitated by the Department to help MSMEs market their products in Metro Manila. The Bahandi Trade Fair, which will be held on October 5-9, will have a total of 115 exhibitors—46 from Leyte, 10 from Southern Leyte, 4 from Biliran, 16 from Samar, 9 from Eastern Samar, and 19 from Northern Samar. Learning by doing. Through experiencing first hand learning, hands on activity by working with each other or even through watching, pupils may learn the importance of learning. Inquisitiveness is the common attitude of most children thereby the teacher should cater this. They are also explorative, and tends to be curious in everything they do. The views of progressivism might be a great challenge in terms of classroom management. When the children were active in learning, sometimes the teacher might lost control in managing the classroom. But maintaining the classroom in an orderly manner is such very good avenue in meaningful learning. They can work together in a more disciplined environment. Furthermore, creating a positive rewards or consequences for the pupils when they show good attitude and achievement would create a positive environment and motivates the children.It is relevant to create a healthy environment that will foster learning through active involvement of the children while observing discipline in the classroom through implementing the rules that is fair and agreed by the class. Thereby, active learning is a meaningful

process while the children learn what they are doing. It also promotes discipline in another aspect wherein the children agreed the rules that they have to follow in order for them to finish the activity without any disruptions. classroom level. Indeed, the teaching methods in progressivism intensify an active involvement among children. It emphasize that children should be allowed to learn freely and they will be assisted only to discover learning. Its’ main emphasis is learning by doing. The child is the center of learning where they are exposed to active engagement and honing interactional skills. Also, in progressive form, curriculum is integrated. When it comes also to learning, progressive pupils learn by activity engagement and promotes process oriented. The concepts are presented as questions to be investigated and they need to explore it in order to find the new facts. In addition, progressivism has in-depth learning and the assessment is authentic. Thereby, applying progressivism through learning by doing among children creates a meaningful learning environment.
