CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- The Department of Education (DepEd) in Region 10 is holding simultaneous celebrations of the World Teacher’s Day ( WTD), today, Oct. 5, 2016, at Limketkai Atrium, Limketkai Center, here, as a regional culmination of the monthlong activities for those in the teaching profession. This is to express the education sector’s appreciation for the important role of teachers in implementing the educational reforms in the region, as pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 242, declaring the period from September 5 to October 5 of every year, dubbed as “National Teachers’ Month.” The celebration aims to honor those who are in

the teaching profession; revitalize the image of and respect for teaching as a vocation by increasing public awareness on the value of teachers in the Philippine society; take the occasion as an opportunity in building the image of teaching as an attractive and fulfilling profession and generate widespread support and assistance for teachers. “A bunch of intentionally and maliciously planted trees caused the tripping of the Agus 5-Aurora 138-kV line and subsequent tripping of the Baloi-Aurora 138kV line on September 15, 2016. These tripping caused the blackout of the entire Z amboanga peninsula, including areas served by distribution utilities ZAMSURECO I, ZAMSURECO II, ZAMCELCO, MOELCI I, MOELCI II, and parts of LANECO, at 11:37 am.
