CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -The results of the 2015 Census of Population (POPCEN) show that Region X hits 4,689,302 as of August 1, 2015, an increase by 391,979 compared to the 4.30 million population in 2010. Among the five provinces comprising the region, Bukidnon recorded the biggest population with 1.42 million followed by Misamis Oriental, excluding Cagayan de Oro City, with 889,000.
STEM workshop for DepEd teachers set ILIGAN CITY -- The College of Education (CED) of the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) has been given authority to hold a workshop for in-service Department of Education teachers (DepEd-10) at the college’s amphitheater on October 11-13, 2016. The three-day workshop is for free, and will see CED faculty leading discussions and conduct activities regarding interdisciplinary contextualization for STEM education. STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. SOCIAL Welfare and Development Secretary Judy M. Taguiwalo on Tuesday has revealed what she calls as “convergence of three main programs of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The announcement came while Taguiwalo was leading a formal ceremonies at the DSWD Central Office, marking her administration’s first 100 days in office. A news release from the DSWD said: “In the coming weeks, Sec. Taguiwalo is set to announce the relaunch of DSWD’s three main

BUTUAN CITY – Over the years, the Department of Agriculture (DA) has been collaborating with various institutions for research and development. It has been closely working with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) to implement various research and development (R&D) projects to provide solutions and possible answers to increasing food production and food security. One of the projects implemented in the field is the Philippine Rice Information System (PRISM).
