AGAYAN de Oro City--At least P10 million worth of fake and imported items were seized by the Bureau of Customs as they raided warehouses in the Cogon area Tuesday and Wednesday. The bulk of the goods comprised of about 350 boxes of counterfeit cigarettes reportedly imported from China and Taiwan, said Sonny Sarmiento, Customs technical assistant at the Office of Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon during an interview yesterday. The raid, he said, stemmed from a tip given to them by anonymous citizens on the proliferation of
smuggled and fake products in the local market in Northern Mindanao. Acting on the directive of Faeldon, the Customs team from Manila and region 10 raided the warehouses owned by a certain Mr. Chan. He said they have yet to verify the complete name of the owner of the items as they also demand See seized, page A7
