NGCP presents Butuan-Placer 138KV Transmission Project By PAT SAMONTE Caraga Regional Editor
BUTUAN CITY – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced the opening of its Butuan-Placer 138kV Transmission Line 2 Project covering two cities, nine municipalities, 58 barangays and two provinces. In a presentation at Watergate Hotel here, NGCP officials said the affected areas are the provinces of Agusan del Norte (6 towns) and Surigao del Norte (3 municipalities), Butuan City and Cabadbaran City. The project will commence at Barangay Kinamlutan, pass through Barangays
Bit-os, Ampayon,and Sto. Niño in Butuan City, municipalities of Remedios T. Romualdez,Barangay Calamba in Cabadbaran City, Tubay, Santiago, Jabonga and Kitcharao in Agusan del Norte, the towns of Alegria, Mainit, Tubod, and Placer in Surigao del Norte. Purposes of the project, the NGCP officials said, are for upgrading, protection,and control of communication facilities at Butuan and Placer substations as well as improving transmission of power to electric utilities and other customers.

Together we can make a big difference and make things happen for a drug-free Philippines.” PSSupt Faro Antonio Olaguera, provincial director, Philippine National Police (PNP)-Lanao del Norte said “Many of us think that peace is an impossible dream because of our different culture, traditions and
ideologies but today, this ‘Panagtagbo Sa Kalinaw’ (Convergence for Peace) of all stakeholders and the community, is a testament that peace, after all, is possible. SSupt Olaguera represented PNP-10 regional director, Police Chief Supt Noel G. Constantino, to the kick off activity of the Mindanao Week of Peace 2016 celebration held at Linamon municipal gym, the host town, which starts November 24 up to the first
week of December. PNP provincial director commended the conveners of the activity to attain lasting peace in Mindanao, particularly in Lanao del Norte. CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Sen. Sherwin T. Gatchalian is batting for a bill to clarify the tax exemptions enjoyed by electric cooperatives. Speaking during the very first assembly of the Association of Mindanao Electric Cooperatives (AMRECO) over the weekend, Mr. Gatchalian said he is disheartened to hear that many electric utility coops in
between the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) and a local government unit (LGU) wherein the court ruled ordering the utility to pay real property tax for the land owned by the LGU that it is using to erect pylons.
