Beware of taxi drivers’ ‘spraying’ modus -- LTFRB By GERRY LEE GORIT Correspondent

CAGAYAN de Oro City-The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in Region 10 (LTFRB-10) has warned commuters to be alert when boarding taxicabs, following reports of taxi drivers who are employing toxic “spraying” to take advantage of their passengers. LTFRB-10 acting Regional Director Aminoden Guro said there were already two complaints that were lodged to his office by woman-passengers who said they almost fainted after some kind of “spraying” were done while they were onboard separate taxis. The first case was registered in September and the complainant brought the case to the court because the owner of the taxi is a policeman and the police station where he lodged the complaint allegedly did not take action on her complaint. GENERAL Santos City-Police have stepped up their security preparations in line with the upcoming Christmas festivities here and other parts of Region 12. Sr. Supt. Debold Sinas, deputy regional director for administration of the Police Regional Office-12, said Monday they are currently finalizing their comprehensive security plan for various activities related to the Christmas season. He said local police units were required to craft their own detailed security and deployment plans to ensure peaceful and secure holidays in the area. “The security plan for the Christmas season will be implemented starting Dec. 1,” he said in a media forum.
