THE City Council in Cagayan De Oro City has denied receiving donations from the PCSO here, City Councilor Prexy Elipe said. Elipe made the statement after the City Council received reports that the PCSO has donated an ambulance and a Php 1 million cash endowment assistance to the city’s J.R. Borja Memorial Hospital. A representative from the PCSO reportedly informed the City Council about the donation during the regular session last week. “The City Council has no knowledge of any donations from the PCSO,” Elipe told the local august body that the City Council could not pass a resolution thanking the PCSO for the See grants, page A11

6 M’nao provinces top nat’l competitiveness ranking DAVAO City--Six Mindanao provinces made it to the top 10 of the 2015 Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index of the National Competitiveness Council (NCC) reflecting economic dynamism, government efficiency, and infrastructure growth of the island-region in the recent years. Four Mindanao provinces dominated the top five most competitive provinces with Davao del Sur leading the pack as the most competitive province in the Philippines with an overall score of 46.11, followed by
Misamis Oriental in second with an overall score of 38.93. South Cotabato placed fourth with a score of 36.42, while Zamboanga del Sur ranked fifth with a score of 35.88.
