econd-termer Misamis Oriental 1st District Rep. Peter M. Unabia led other newly elected officials of the province in taking their oath under the Liberal Party on June 22, 2013 at the Sugbongcogon gym.
Unabia took his oath administered by RTC Branch 41 Judge Jeoffre W. Acebido. The order of o at h taking began with all Sangguniang Bayan members, followed by all vice mayors and Sangguniang Panlalawigan members Benedict Lagbas, Vincent Pelaezm Virgelia D u ma d ag and Abi ng Bernaldez of the first congressional district and Oliver Boris Actub and Emmanuel Mugot of the second congressional district. Immediately afterwards were municipal mayors Alexis S. Quina of Balingasag, Romeo L. Gue of Salay, Binuangan Tomas R. Gumahin, Danilo A. Lagbas Jr. of Kinoguitan and Jerome P.
Lagbas of Sugbongcogon. The judges who took turns in administering the oath were Judge Acebido, MTCC Branch 1 Judge Cesar A. Merlas and RTC Branch 22 Judge Richard D. Mordeno. In his welcome address, Sugb ongcogon Mayor Jerome P. Lagbas acknowledged likewise the presence of newly elected Cagayan de Oro City 1st District Rep. Rolando Uy and municipal mayors Jhubert Pamisa of Lagonglong, Pedro Panulaya of Balingoan, Rommel Maslog of Talisayan, Jojo Pupos of Medina and Rey Buhisan of Magsaysay as well as Vice Mayor Eric Canosa of Gingoog City and the staff of Senator Loren Legarda. on three things: political awareness, social responsibility and economic emancipation. “People who are aware will participate and cooperate in development,” Unabia said. “Our lives are not only
for us but also for others,” he added. To drive home his last point, he concluded: “When people break the bonds of poverty, they will be able to stand on their own and provide for their basic needs.”
