CAGAYAN de Oro City–– The Philippine Army will dismantle the 163 landmines that soldiers found in a New People’s Army bomb factory in Agusan del Sur last Wednesday.

Capt. Christian Uy, spokesman for the 4th Infantry Division, said the Explosives Ordnance Disposal unit will do the dismantling.

The landmines were found by soldiers at sition Mampait, barangay Kauswagan, Loreto town after a series of gun battles with the NPA guerrillas.

No casualties were reported on either side during the armed encounters.

Eastern Mindanao Command commanding general Ricardo Rainier G. Cruz III said the soldiers also gathered a generator from the site.

Villar donates P8m for ‘Yolanda’ relief on birthday

NPAs attack Kibawe for firearms: Mayor

CAGAYAN de Oro City–– The communist rebels that stormed the Kibawe Police Station Thursday dawn were after the firearms they can get from the Kibawe police and could have come from as far as Davao region.

This is the assessment made by Kibawe town Mayor Minerva Casinabe after consolidating the reports from the policemen who were out-numbered and rendered defenseless by some 40 communist rebels.

Mayor Casinabe said no less that the police chief of Kibawe, police Insp. Butch Meniosa, who was dragged outside of his office after being located inside his office by the rebels, was spared from harm and was

told that the rebels were only after their firearms and not to kill them, except for those who will stand on their way.

Casinabe said six M-16 assault rifles and two .9mm pistols were taken by the rebels from the eight policemen on duty yesterday. Two other policemen had been assigned at the market area at the time of the attack.

But Capt. Christian Uy, spokesman of the 4th Infantry Division, said reports reaching the 4ID, indicated that the rebels took with them five M-16 rifles, three .9mm and three .45 cal. pistols.

Mayor Casinabe said the 10 policemen were clearly out-numbered by the rebels, around 10 of them are women, carrying with highpowered firearms, and who

arrived the town on board seven new vehicles, some are “for registration” yet.

Casinabe said the vehicles were recovered later in Barangay Mascarinas.

Some of the vehicles were traced from Davao City either rented or carnapped.

Tw o p e r s o n s h a v e claimed ownerships of two of the seven vehicles. One of the claimants said his driver failed to go home with his vehicle two days before the attack and is still being located. Mayor Casinabe said there has been intelligence report that the rebels will attack.

LTFRB-10 warns taxi drivers of violations

CAGAYAN de Oro City–– The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in Region 10 has warned taxi drivers of penalties to be imposed for various violations.

LTFRB regional director Mandangan Darimbang said they have responded to complaints from passengers received through the office hotline number printed on the vehicles.

by taxi drivers may call the LTFRB office and the offending driver if caught will be penalized with a P3,000 fine.

“We cannot be all over at one time,” Darimbang said but we give action to complaints.

Butuan fire razes 200 homes, damages P15m

BUTUAN City--Two hundred residential buildings were leveled to the ground and rendered 200 families homeless after a fire broke out past midnoon Friday at Purok 4, Fort Poyohon, here.

Most residents had barely finished lunch when people shouted “Sunog (Fire)!” and hell broke loose, with everyone picking up whatever could be saved.

Investigator-on-Case FO2 Julius Colo of the Butuan City Central Fire Station said they were informed about the fire at around 12:40 pm for which they dispatched two fire trucks and crew to the fire scene some two kilometers away. Moments later, they sent another two station fire trucks, a fire truck from Barangay Ampayon Fire Substation, two from the Agusan Filipino-Chinese Volunteer Fire Brigade and one from Gaisano Mall, he said.

Senior Insp. August Cesar Kinazo raised the fire status to General Alarm at around 1:50 pm, or an hour and 10 minutes after the fire started when the responding firefighters could not control the quickly spreading blaze fanned by strong winds and aided by the hot, sunny weather. He called for all available fire trucks in Agusan Del Norte and volunteer brigades to respond.

Colo said the firefighters were headed by Provincial Fire Marshal Senior Insp. Rey Antonio Restauro.

According to Colo, the fire could have originated from the house of Mrs. Rosemarie Belluga who, the fire investigator said, “ first saw the fire in the kitchen where she was cooking.”

The fire was put under control at around 5 pm and damage to property was estimated at around P15 million.

No casualty was reported.

Climate change-resilient technologies showcased

With the theme: “Malambuon ug malahutayon nga pagpanguma taliwala sa mabalhinong klima”, the Department of Agriculture-Claveria Experiment Station (DA-CES) held its 11th Farmers’ Field Day and Technology Forum at Lanise, Claveria, Misamis Oriental.

The annual event aims to promote the latest farming technologies that can aid to enhance productivity and sustainability in agriculture production, which in turn will increase farmers’ income and ensure sufficient food supply for the country amidst the challenges brought by climate change.

Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulatory Constancio C. Maghanoy, Jr. stressed that with climate change bringing in more typhoons and natural calamities and leaving agricultural areas severely affected, it is important that farmers learn to adopt technologies that are resilient, that can withstand any weather condition.

He also encouraged the farmers to select the best technologies that are appropriate to the needs and condition in their respective farm areas.

Most of the technologies showcased during the field day were products

from the research and development projects of the DA-CES. These technologies include upland rice seed production, open pollinated variety corn seed production and organic production of various vegetables.

Moreso, demonstrations on valueadding technologies and equipment on cassava; mushroom production and value-added mushroom products; and organic fertilizer production were also conducted.

Farmer-participants also learn about mushroom production and the valueadding activities (top photos) that they can perform in order to earn additional income from their produce. Different value-adding equipment (bottom photos) for processing cassava into food products was also showcased.

One of the perks of having an executive for a father is meeting important people. On December 3, 2013, I had the opportunity to meet the most amazing lady executive of National Power Corporation, the largest provider and generator of electricity in the Philippines for 77 years. By far, she is the nicest woman executive I ever had the privilege of meeting. She is none other than the first woman appointed as President of National Power Corporation, Ms. Gladys Cruz-Sta. Rita, a woman of humility and intelligence, an epitome of simplicity and brilliance.

It was in August of this year when President Benigno Simeon Aquino III, through the endorsement of Energy Secretary Carlos Jericho Petilla, appointed Ms. Gladys Cruz-Sta. Rita as President of National Power Corporation, replacing Former President Froilan Tampinco. Seeing a gem in the lady from Bulacan, Secretary Petilla said that Sta. Rita characterized the President he had in mind: “a people-person and a systemsperson capable of navigating the intricacies of the government bureaucracy and corporate governance”.

A Bachelor of Arts graduate from the University of the Philippines in 1984, PGSR obtained her Masters in Economics in the same institution two years thereafter.

In 2002, she went to Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she finished a Certificate Program for Senior Executives at the John F. Kennedy School for Government in Harvard University. Later on, she took her Masters in Public Administration at La Consolacion University of the Philippines in 2006.

In 2011 to July 2013, she was member of the Philippine National Oil Corporation Motherboard from 2011 and concurrently served as Director of PNOC Renewables Corporation. It was in October 2012 when President Benigno Simeon Aquino III also appointed her as Chairman of the PNOC Development and Management Corporation alongside her membership in the PNOC Motherboard.

PGSR intended to visit Mindanao Generation during the 77th Anniversary of National Power Corporation last November. Finally, she arrived on the 2nd of December this year belatedly greeting everyone a happy anniversary.

del Norte, to implement a Php 1.9 Billion Flood Control Project to benefit the the communities within the municipality, not only in regard to flood prevention but that such project would open gates of employment to interested and able-bodied workers who are residents of the municipality of Balo-i. It has been the municipality’s request for many years now but to no avail. The municipality, represented by its Mayor Hanifa P. Ali and other Balo-i officials, conveyed their gratitude for the fulfillment an “overdue” request.

As they say, better late than never.

At the press conference held shortly before the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between President Gladys Sta. Rita, Mayor Hanifa P. Ali, VP for MinGen Rudy P. Brioso and Engr. Rey Peter Gille of DPWH Lanao del Sur, Councilor Rasul Ali voiced out the concern of the municipality regarding a stable electric power source, on whether National Power Corporation can directly provide the supply since the stability of Lanao de Sur Electric Cooperative Inc. or LASURECO is dubious.

That the essence of the project would be nugatory if there is no stable supply of power in the area.

In answer, PGSR deemed it logical to have a stable power supply when the project commences. However, she stressed that Napocor cannot directly supply power to the municipality. Rather, it shall course through LASURECO. Further, she assured that constant communication with the manager of LASURECO will be made to accord solution to this concern.

In the program which immediately followed the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between Napocor executives and Balo-i public officials, PGSR tackled the concern of privatization which has been a controversial issue for the past decades. When asked on her stand concerning this matter, she points out that regardless of her stand on this trite of an issue, any mandate by the National Government shall be accorded respect. Being the “mother” of the corporation, allowing privatization of any of the

plants of Napocor is tantamount to an assent of giving away one of her children, which she finds distressful. Nevertheless, National Power Corporation shall continue to shine and shall deal with the present concerns. There is no impression of “bahala na kayo sa buhay ninyo”. In Davao City, the Punisher guarantees, “ako ang bahala sa inyo”.

I got up from my seat when I reached my destination thanking God that I now live in Davao City.

I can sleep well at night without locking our house main gate to the comfort of moderate rainfall in the evening. Seeking the true cost of power THE relatively lower cost of power in Mindanao compared to Luzon and the Visayas is due to the low cost of fully depreciated hydro plants blended with a mix of geothermal, diesel and coal plants.

At present, the Mindanao Grid has a total generating capacity of 1,884MW broken down as follows: Hydro 924.1MW (49%), Diesel 651.9MW (34.6%) and Others (Coal/Geothermal) 308MW (16.3%). The peak demand last April 19, 2013 was reported at 1,222MW (or 64.9% of installed capacity) broken down as follows: Hydro 661MW (54%); Diesel 135MW (11%) and coal/geothermal 283MW (23.1%).

Despite wide variance in generation rates, the blended grid rate is only P2.79/kWh because of the dominant share of hydro in the power mix.

Per se, individual power generation sources could either be cheaper or more expensive than comparable renewable energy sources

under the free market/bilateral contracts regime.

Once the approximately 2,000MW of power from seven new coal fired power plants c om e on l i n e, does this necessarily mean the cost of power in Mindanao will increase? These coal plants claim an average generation rate of P5/kWh compared to an average of P4.00/kWh for new hydro plants.

In its application with the Energy Regulatory Commission, Minergy’s proposed 110MW coal-fired power plant in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, claims a decrease in the generation cost from its current blended rate of P7.3952/kWh to only P6.1342 for a net decrease in the rate impact per kilowatt hour of -P1.2610.

power grid that is socially, economically and environmentally acceptable.

But oppositors to the coal plants say whatever their social and economic justification, there is just no such thing as “clean coal”. And indeed, there truly is no such thing as ‘clean coal’ which is the raw material, as differentiated from the process which converts this raw material to energy.

It is the constantly improving and emerging technologies (“the process”) which make even the “dirtiest coal” found in Philippine coal mines palatable to the environment.

For instance, a typical Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) coal fired power plant’s emissions of total suspended particulates (TSP) on a 24-hr average complies with both the World Bank and Phil. Clean Air Act standard of 200 µg/m3 .

It is much lower than that of the World Bank (150 µg/m3) and Phil. Clean Air Act (260 µg/m3 ) thresholds for Nitrogen Dioxide (NO

2) at only 0.262 µg/m3 for thermal power plants.

Typical CFB coal fired power plants also have significantly lower Sulfur Dioxide (SO 2 ) emissions compared to both the Phil.

Clean Air Act (340 µg/m3 ) and the World Bank (150 µg/m3 ) thresholds with 0.26 µg/m3 .

Ultimately, it is what comes out of the smokestack after the raw material has been processed into energy which would matter most to our health and environment, rather than the “dirty coal” itself. Covered systems in transporting and handling the raw coal are easily implementable mechanisms to ensure reduction in fugitive dust (old coal plants had open conveyors and coal yards).

What the Bible says about money IT’S the season of giving, and for most people, it’s also the season of spending.

Though all the Christmas shopping and partying can be good for the economy, it is also important that consumers are spending their money not only wisely but also meaningfully.

For guidance towards the right attitude towards money this Yuletide season, people don’t have to look very far for advice or example. They can simply turn to the One we are celebrating this Christmas for --- Jesus Christ, whose teachings about money can be read in the Bible.

It may be surprising for some to learn that the Bible actually contains many stories and verses concerning money. According to Howard L. Dayton, Jr., who has written several books about applying Bible teachings in managing finances, 16 of the 38 parables of Jesus were about handling money and possessions.

Another author, Gary Inrig, discussed three of these parables about money in his book “The Parables: Understanding What Jesus Meant.” One is the story

from the book of Luke about a rich fool After realizing that he had abundant harvest, the rich man built bigger barns to store the crops instead of sharing or using these to help others.

He did this to secure only his own needs and so that he could eat, drink and enjoy himself the rest of his life.

Jesus called him a fool for doing so as his life could be claimed that day itself, rendering his stock useless.

Then there is also the parable of the complaining workers in the book of Matthew. The story is about a group of workers who complained to a vineyard owner when they found out that a second group of workers - made up of unemployed men - got paid the same as they did even if the second group worked for just one hour.

They expected to also receive a “bonus,” which was 12 times of what they should receive, and even planned on how to spend it.

To their surprise, they got only what they originally agreed to get, and this made them call the owner unfair.

All set for transfer of 278 Zambo jail MNLF detainees to Metro Manila

AMBOANGA CITY - City Legal Officer Jesus Carbon said all is set for the transfer of the 278 Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) detainees from this city to a detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig City.

Carbon said that they are just waiting for the availability of a C-130 cargo plane to transport the detainees from the San Ramon Prison and

Penal Farm here to Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City. “ We h op e t h at by Christmas they will be transferred,” Carbon, a

retired judge, said citing everything is ready except for the availability of the plane.

At present, the C-130 cargo planes of the Armed Forces of t he Philippines (AFP) are being utilized for humanitarian aid transport for the “Yolanda” victims in the Visayas region.

The move is in compliance with the Supreme

Court order to transfer the venue of trial and detention of the MNLF rebels to Camp Bagong Diwa for security reasons.

Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the presence of the MNLF detainees at the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm continues to pose security risks to residents of this city who remain traumatized by the 20day conf lict last September.

Primarily charged with rebellion/insurrection and violations of the international humanitarian law in connection with the three-week long standoff in the city which started on September 9 is Nur Misuari, Habier Malik, Bas Arki, Assamin Hussin, and several other commanders.

Meanwhile, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) warden Chief Insp. Julius Arro they have readied security plan to ensure the orderly transfer of the MNLF detainees to Camp Bagong Diwa.(PNA)

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur – A military official lambasted the New People’s Army (NPA) rebels for sabotaging the implementation of development projects in the hinterlands of this province.

Army’s 53rd Infantry Battalion commander Lt. Col. Victor Tanggawohn’s statement came after the NPA rebels torched two heavy equipment of a construction firm undertaking development project in Barangay Dumalian, San Miguel, this province.

The incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. Thursday in Barangay Dumalian, San Miguel municipality.

Among the equipment burned down by the NPA rebels was a backhoe and a dump truck worth at least P8 million owned by the Walter Lao Construction Company undertaking a road project.

Ta n g g a w o h n s a i d combined policemen and soldiers rushed to the construction site but the NPA rebels were already gone.

Tanggawohn said the burning of heavy equipment came after the construction firm did not give in to the extortion demand of the NPAs. Meanwhile, Tanggawohn ordered his men to strengthen security measures to prevent a repeat of the incident.

In its efforts to protect the interest of the City’s fisherfolks and the City’s marine resources, a total fishing ban period has been declared as an amendment of Ordinance No. 38-99, known as the Basic Fisheries Code of Oroquieta City. However, aired lately is the plight of the City’s fisherfolks as there is no synchronized period of fishing ban between the City and its adjacent Municipality, so that, the Sangguniang Panlungsod, in its regular session, passed Resolution No. 2013-09-767 expressing the possibility of synchronizing the City’s fishing ban period with the fishing ban period of the Municipality of Lopez Jaena, Misamis Occidental. This is so, because, the Municipality of Lopez Jaena, Misamis Occidental has a longer period of its fishing ban compared to the City of Oroquieta, that is why, fisherfolks of the said municipality come to this City for fishing during the ban period, thus, to the disadvantage of the marginal fisherfolks of Oroquieta City. With this situation, the City’s fisherfolks appealed the City Government to possibly craft measures to have a synchronized fishing ban period in the two (2) localities – Lopez Jaena, Misamis Occidental and the City of Oroquieta, for fairness and effective implementation. It was also made clear that aside from the spawning season of fish in time of the ban period, it also includes all other species, such as, shrimps, crabs, shells and other marine products, thus, this Ordinance: ORDINANCE NO. 562-2013 AN ORDINANCE FURTHER AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 38-99, KNOWN AS THE BASIC FISHERIES CODE OF OROQUIETA CITY, SPECIFICALLY SECTION 95 THEREOF.

Bracing for ASEAN free trade

AVAO CITY -- Getting ready for free trade in 2015, just nearly a year from now, is like bracing for the next super typhoon Yolanda to hit our shores.

most of the big exporters in this country are prepared and ready for ASEAN free trade in 2015.

“It’s a no for the small players, but a yes for the big players, so there’s a lot of work we have to do to help our small exporters prepare for free trade with our ASEAN neighbors,” says Fenina Bonoan, OIC of the ASEAN desk at the DTI Bureau of Export Trade Promotion in Makati.

As far as we know, “free trade” in the ASEAN region means most of the tariffs or import taxes attached to the import of goods and merchandise

So the question in every Filipino exporters' mind now is: are we ready for free trade in 2015 with our neighbors in the Association of South East Asian Nations?

It was just proper and right to ask again the same question during the recent DTI seminar on “ASEAN Economic Community 2015 and Doing Busines in Free TradeAreas” held at the ballroom of Marco Polo Hotel here late last week.

The answer given by our f riends f rom the Makati office of the Department of Trade and Industry’s Bureau of Export Trade Promotion was both a “yes” and a “no” ---even if we asked them if they can answer the question directly with a just a “yes” and a “no”.

It was made very clear that so many small and medium-size exporters are NOT READY yet, but

from other countries has been cut down to ZERO. This means local traders who import say, coffee beans from Vietnam, don’t have to pay any tariffs on the shipment---so they’ll end up selling cheap Vietnam coffee here, thus killing Philippine-made coffee which will look very expensive to buyers.

experts and consultants under Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) teaming up with DTI to help some 24 various industries boost their capacities to produce better quality products in much bigger volumes to come up with export prices that can compete squarely with any Asian country without batting an eye.

Our peculiar Pinoy culture of being so fiercely free, happy go-lucky, jealous, selfish and lazy (because we’re so blessed with so much food that we don’t have to work), -- had to be bent at some point so we can see what’s really wrong with this country.

Vic Sotto had nothing but good words for Kris Aquino, his coproducer on his upcoming 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival entry My Little Bossings, especially when it comes to being a mother. In past interviews, Kris has been very open about admitting that shooting her son Bimby’s debut film has unleashed her being a stage mother so much so that she even jokingly called it as her second job.

he has been fair to them as he gave them exactly what they were contracted for. To the 1-hour workers, meanwhile, he was generous by paying them more than they deserved, as he thought they needed the money more.

From the first parable, we learn that keeping or spending all our resources to ourselves is never good, as it only benefits us and us alone. Set in modern times, this parable does not tell us to give all our money away, but advises us to think not only of our own good.

After all, a giver will never lack provision as the Bible states in Proverbs 22:9, “A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.”

The second parable meanwhile, reminds us of the saying “Don’t count the chickens before they are hatched.” At times, we tend to spend beyond our means, assuming we’d get a certain amount. Doing so may not only get us in debt, but also encourages greed.

The parable teaches us to work not only for reward, but out of love and joy for the opportunity to make a living.

The Bible offers more verses that can guide us in properly attaining wealth.

It teaches us the value of hard work (“If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.” 2 Thessalonians 3:10) and to earn our resources the right way (“Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow.”

Proverbs 13:11).

It also reminds us to pay what we owe (“If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if money, then money; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.” Romans 13:7) and to take care of our family (“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.” Proverbs 13:22).

Basically, what Jesus’ teachings and the Holy Scriptures tell us is to not worship money and be attached to it. This doesn’t mean we should shun it or throw it away, but we should use it as a tool to do good to others, and to please the source of all our wealth, God. I hope these Bible lessons help you see money in the right perspective this busy Christmas rush.

Renewable energy is the future but their present cost and technological limitations for large-scale power requirements of the Mindanao Grid need to be considered. We need reliable supply of power even just for the province.

It is our obligation, through Multi-Partite Monitoring Teams (MMT) which are mandated by law, to remain vigilant and constantly monitor and keep

tabs on all power plants and environmentally critical industries and agricultural plantations and processing plants.

Some stakeholders have expressed alarm over the increasing share of coal in the Mindanao power mix but beside decreasing the share of expensive oilfired diesel plants during peak hours (and lowering electric bills through the cheaper generation charge), the allegations of increasing greenhouse gases and other fears have proved unfounded.

First, the leading contributors to Global Greenhouse Gases (GHGs) from carbon dioxide (CO2) generated by power plants are China, the U.S., India, the Russian Federation, and Japan (International Energy Agency’s 2012 report). It is the industrialized countries that contribute more than 50% of the World’s CO2 emissions. The top 20 emitters contribute almost 90% (an astounding 89.75%) of global GHGs, In contrast, the Philippines only ranks #41 as of the end of 2010 (same rank as in 2008) generating 0.2% of total global GHG, or less than one percent.

According to the DENR, 70% of our CO2 emissions come from the transport sector (with the number of motor vehicles expected to double by 2020) while the remaining 30% is from various industries. Even assuming that all those industries are coal-fired power plants, 30% of 0.2% is not significant enough for us to limit our need for development. In 2008, the Philippines ranked #40 worldwide in total annual CO2 emissions contributing 0.29% to the world total. In 2009, it dropped to #43 contributing 0.28%, and dropped further to #46 and 0.22% respectively by 2010.

While the coal-fired power plants are drawing all the flak, almost nobody is paying any attention to the rising number of motor vehicles which account for 70 percent of CO2 emissions in the country. From 5,530,052 in 2007, the number of registered motor vehicles in the Philippines increased 29 percent to 7,138,942 in 2011. (NSCB) For the first half of 2013, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) reports the automotive industry posted its highest first semester performance ever with sales hitting 87,226 units based on the com-

bined reports of the CAMPI and Truck Manufacturers Association, Inc. (TMA).

First-half sales were up by 20 percent compared to the 72,871 units sold in the same period last year. (Philippine Star, July 12, 2013) The Philippines is listed as one of the high-growth motor vehicle markets among the Association of Southeast Asian Nations which collectively is expected to be the eighthlargest automotive market in the world by 2015. (Asean: The Final Frontier,Vivek Vaidya,2013) Ironically, putting constraints on the development of new power plants will undermine the Mindanao economy’s ability to respond to climate change.

Rotating brownouts will be perpetuated and will continue to suppress demand, and highly industrialized nations will continue to thumb their noses at us while we continue to be victims of climate change brought by their continued high emissions of CO2.

Further, even reducing the country’s CO2 emission by 50% by curbing the construction of coal fired power plants would not have any significant impact world-wide in terms of CO2 emissions, However, such a move would drastically and adversely affect Mindanao’s economy with the cost of electricity rising by as much as 20 percent.

The lack of power supply in Mindanao is a persistent malady which suppresses demand and constraints further economic growth throughout the island. Social risks to every undertaking should be weighed against the risks of social ills such as poverty which is worsening in Mindanao despite an improvement in the rest of the country.

To be able to effectively

manage growth versus the social, economic and environmental risks of new power plants to address this vital constraint to needed growth, decision makers have to give and take between the risks of deteriorating peace and order due to poverty for the island’s future.

policemen will immediately undergo the mandatory one-year public safety field training program at the regional police’s training school in Purok Lanton, Barangay Apopong here.

“They will go through series of physical and mental exercises to properly prepare them for actual duty and also hone their mental and physical abilities,” he said.

He said the training program will also address the emotional and spiritual needs of the police officers.

“Additionally, they will endure transformation processes that would certainly help them meet the necessary standards of being a police officer,” Labador said.
