Italpinas champions energy efficiency thru Green Architecture in Mindanao Forum

The designer and builder of Northern Mindanao’s first green building shares its advocacy for energy efficiency at the 1st Mindanao Energy Efficiency Forum (MEEF) scheduled for 23 July 2013 at the Marco Polo Hotel in Davao City. Architect Romolo V. Nati, Chairman and CEO of Italpinas Euroasian Design and

Eco-Development Corporation, will present “Energy Efficiency in the Real Estate Industry” as a ‘first mover’ designer and builder of Primavera Residences, a twin 10-story condominium at the Pueblo de Oro Business Park in Cagayan de Oro City. “With Eco-Logic Architecture, the global warming and climate change compels

us to move towards Energy Plus Buildings which are net producers, rather than net users of energy,” Arch. Nati said. “Around 25-40 percent of total energy produced worldwide is consumed by buildings and their air conditioners,” he noted. “Buildings also produce seventy percent of the total volume of carbon

dioxide in cities.” Arch. Nati believes the real estate sector, particularly the architecture, engineering and energy sub-sectors can substantially contribute to the attainment of energy security in the country as demonstrated by the Italpinas experience in the Philippines. “Italpinas is an Italian-

Drilon is Senate, prexy Belmonte retains house SENATOR Franklin Drilon beat former Senate president Juan Ponce Enrile by a vote of 17-6 for the Senate Presidency. Enrile resigned in June following accusations of misuse of the Senate’s funds and the failure of his son Cagayan Rep. Jack Enrile to win a Senate seat in the May elections. In his speech, Drilon vowed to change the image of the Senate and craft laws that will have an impact on the lives of Filipinos, particularly the poor, and bring the Senate closer to the masses. Sen. Aquino’s SONA inspires the Filipinos, says Solon

REP. Rufus Rodriguez, 2nd District, Cagayan de Oro City, said that the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of the President Benigno Aquino III with the House of Representatives on Monday was very inspiring. Rodriguez said that the Filipino people were proud of the President’s accomplishments knowing that the country’s economic fundamentals were moving upward. He said that with the economy growing at 7.6 percent , the Philippine is regaining its ground as the new “economic tiger” in Southeast Asia. Rodriguez , President of the Center for Democratic Philippines, said that as a legislator he was happy of the Aquino’s SONA.

“I am confident that with the investments growing and the economy moving in the right track, the Philippine economy could
