L ANAO DEL NORTE -- A Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) commander, known for changing loyalties, is poised to attack again, a Lanao del Norte municipal executive warned. Pantao Ragat Vice Mayor Lacson Lantud sounded
alarm bells over a radio station and to the police and the military over the weekend, claiming that the notorious Kumander Bravo has massed up 700 armed followers and ready to attack his town. Lantud said that Bravo, whose real name is Abdullah Macapaar, was pissed off
when one of his men was arrested in Pantao Ragat after police tagged the latter as the principal abductor of a public school teacher and her husband last June 18. Macapaar was demanding the release of Majid Abuat who is currently detained at the Lanao del Norte provincial jail in Maigo

A LAWMAKER blamed the top officials of the National Food Authority (NFA) and the Department of Agriculture (DA) for their failure to control the price increases on agricultural and poultry products. Rep. Neri Colmenares of the progressive group Bayan Muna also blamed President Benigno Aquino III for al-
lowing price manipulators to spike the prices of rice, garlic, ginger, chicken, and pork. For this, Colmenares urged the top officials of DA to resign starting from Secretary Proceso Alcala He said PNoy and Alcala have publicly declared that the Philippines is on the road to rice self sufficiency. “Now they we are forced to admit their failure to achieve rice self sufficiency by justifying the rice price
increases as due to lean months,” said the lawmaker in a press statement. He said Alcala Alcala contradicted himself by saying DA imported 800,000 metric tons of rice, but according to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the NFA erroneously scheduled the imports in August at the start of lean months. “This practically means that DA actually helped the hoarders in jacking up the
