modern-day legend, from cannibalism to astrology, among others. “Lugos” (Rape) by Christine Pulgo takes us to the struggles of the protagonist Juliet being abused a number of times by her own brother and how she faces her life after what happened. “The issue [of incest crimes] is very alarming. The San Francisco Water District (SFWD) issued this rejoinder to refute claims by a team of foresters from the local government who inspected the area in the mountain that it is just normal that there were soil movements of the sloppy surface because there have been “ kaingin (slash and burn)” activities in the past. Mayor Jenny de Asis also berated the SFWD for distributing false and exaggrated press release to the local media that has caused panic to the people still reeling from the difficulties of being affected by recurring floods brought by Tropical Depression Agaton.
