NGCP installs additional substation capacity for Visayas grid To keep up with the rapidly growing power demand in Visayas, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has undertaken the Compostela Substation Expansion Project in Cebu. This project involves the installation of a 150-megavolt ampere (MVA) transformer, power circuit breakers and accessories at the

Compostela substation. With an estimated project cost of Php221.15M, the project is set to be completed by the end of May 2013. This increase in substation capacity is expected to strengthen the Leyte-Cebu 230-kiloVolt (kV) Interconnection System linked to the Visayas Transmission Backbone. The bulk of pow-

Helmet importers, retailers charged

RADE Secretary Gregory L. Domingo has ordered the filing of administrative and criminal cases against importers and retailers of fake Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) stickers, or in mere possession of fake ICC stickers.

This, after DTI has found a merchandising company in Dumaguete City selling motorcycle helmets, with ‘fake’ ICC stickers reportedly supplied by an importer.
