Gov’t to offer aid for El-Niño stricken MisOr areas T

he Provincial Agriculture Office (PAgrO) of Misamis Oriental has identified six municipalities that are heavily affected by El Nino. The long dry spell has been damaging crops and agricultural & aquacultural products in the Municipalities of Balingasag, Lagonglong, Naawan, Opol, Claveria and Jasaan, all in the province of Misamis Oriental.

A total of 50,000 million pesos financial assistance was extended by Governor Bambi Emano into the body of a farmer called SALIFA ( San Juan - Linabu Farmers Association ). It is for the further development of the agriculture program in the Province of Misamis Oriental.

Provincial Governor Yevgeny Vincente “Bambi” Emano ordered PAgrO to carry out studies and submit to him a comprehensive result on the extent of damage brought about by the El Nino and to prepare for aids to the rehabilitation of farmers in the soonest time possible. The Provincial Government has to allocate P1,697,280 to the project

Calamity Assistance for the Rehabilitation of Farms Affected by the Long Dry Spell in Misamis Oriental. The funding of the project will be taken from the 5 percent calamity fund. As soon as the Sangguniang Panlalawigan will approve the needed appropriation ordinance, the project will be realized and implemented by PAgrO. See el niño, page 4

Vice Governor Pelaez pushes for annual Province of MisOr supports cooperatives auditing of electric cooperatives Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental – Vice Governor Joey G. Pelaez took the opportunity to lay his call for rigorous annual auditing scheme for electric cooperatives in the countr y before the National Electrification Administration, Energy Regulatory Commission and the General Assembly of Misamis Oriental Rural E lec tr ic S er vice Cooperative, Inc. - 1. Vice Governor Pelaez was one of the guest speakers of MORESCO 1 during the 45th Annual General Members Assembly and 47th Founding Anniversary last 23 May 2015 at Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental. In his speech, he placed emphasis on the significance of “balancing the interest of the electric cooperatives and the member – consumers”. Vice Governor Pelaez also gave his warm congratulations to MORESCO – I, adjudged as Grand Diamond Electric C ooperative for being “an efficient, dependable and service-oriented institu-

tion.” It has also earned Triple A Key Performance status with National Electrification Administration, adding to its 2013 award for single digit System’s Loss of 2.71%. Aside f rom b eing a

A n est i mated of P100,000 was handed over by Governor Bambi Emano to two cooperatives in Misamis Oriental. This was composed of the First United Community Club Consumers Cooperative (FUCCCCO) who was given P50,000 as assistance to senior citizens in the municipality of Tagoloan. The amount was given during the visitation of Vice President Jejomar Binay in Tagoloan last May 17, 2015. Another P50,000 was handed over to the San Juan Linabu Farmers Association (SALIFA) in the municipality of Balingasag. It was happily accepted by Mr. Benjamin Ellarina,

president of FUCCCCO and by Renante Galea, president of SALIFA together with their members, respectively. Gov. Bambi Emano personally extended the aid for further development of various associations in the municipalities. Because of this, Renante Galea, chairman of the group expressed their gratitude to Gov. Bambi Emano. The aid will be used for further improvements in their livelihood. Gov. Bambi Emano believes that cooperativism will bring a huge economic relevance to livelihood of each member, especially to the people of Misamis Oriental.
