House panel approves ID system THE House Committee on Revision of Laws has reported out for floor deliberation a mea su re Agabas t hat est ablishes the Filipino Identification System. House Bill No. 5060, which substituted House Bills 11, 489, 2243 and 2249, mandates every Filipino, whether residing in the Philippines or abroad, to register personal information required by the ID system for purposes of securing a non-transferrable Filipino ID Card with a number that shall be valid for life. Quezon’s ‘Laga Ta Kiokong 2015’ is named as Ms. MindanaoSTAR QUEZON, Bukidnon--Bae Marissa M. Batao, who was crowned as Laga Ta Kiokong 2015, was also adjudged as Ms. MindanoSTAR 2015 during the just held beauty pageant, one of the highlights of Sunggod Ta Kamanga Festival 2015. The activity was facilitated by BusinessWeek Mindanao Corp. Vice President for Marketing Mr. Joe Palabao, who graced the three-day festival of the two Manobo clans–-the pulangihon and Matigsalog. The grandiose and spectacular festival is an annual thanksgiving celebration of the indigenous peoples (IPs)–
the Pulangihon and Matigsalog Manobos coming from the 23 barangays of Quezon, Bukidnon. The judgment was in congruence of the candidates question and answer portion of the contest. Kiokong is the original name of Quezon, Bukidnon being named by the first Manobo settlers of the town. Winning “bae” candidates were smart and witty enough in answering the question in the Manobo dialect since the question was asked in Manobo, said Mr. Palabao.
