Groups urge execs to secure watershed cluster protection Over 34,000-hectare Agusan-Cugman watershed cluster cut across political boundaries

An inter-agency and multi-sectoral groups are collectively pushing for the protection of the Agusan-Cugman watershed cluster on the eastern side of Cagayan de Oro, hence the need for a memorandum of agreement (MOA) among local government officials and leaders of civil society organizations.

The draft MOA, however, that was presented during the first general assembly of technical working groups (TWG)

on April 16, 2015 at Chali Beach Resort in Barangay Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City has yet to be presented to the 21 would-be signatories.

DSWD 10 admits errors, vows corrections in survey methods There were inclusion and exclusion errors in household assessment data that were generated in previous surveys, an official of the Department of Social Welfare and Development 10 said during a Talakayan forum at the Philippine Information Agency Friday (April 10, 2015) last week.

NorMin bags seven individual, 13 group awards at NSPC 2015

Northern Mindanao (Region 10) bagged seven individual and 13 group awards during the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) on April 13-17 in Taguig City, according to Department of Education 10 regional campus journalism coordinator Mala Epra Magnaong.

Yumbing National High School’s Ivy Jane G. Babia of Camiguin won second place in news writing (Filipino), Bayabas National High School’s Gifford Jay L. Agudo of Cagayan de Oro got fifth place in science and health writing (Filipino), and Tagoloan National High School’s Jesimuel Espinosa of Misamis Oriental took

the seventh place in editorial cartooning (Filipino) in the secondary level.

The region’s elementary level also had winning performances from Maxine Rose Curib of Ozamiz City Central School who topped (first place) the editorial writing (English), J. Ross M. Mateo of Gusa Elementary School in Cagayan de Oro took the second place honor in photojournalism in Filipino, Don Restituto Baul Central School’s Kimuel S. Camanian of Gingoog City bagged the third spot in editorial cartooning (English) and Maningcol Central School’s Kaye Trisha D. Ng of Ozamiz City reaped the seventh place in feature writing (English).

In group competitions, composed of seven mem-

bers, the expanded collaborative desktop publishing team in English of Cagayan de Oro City’s Macabalan Elementary School, Maningcol Elementary School, Ozamiz City and Ozamiz City Sped Center were adjudged third place winners while Catarmanbased Camiguin National High School was sixth in collaborative desktop publishing (a four page newsletter) and seventh place in expanded collaborative publishing for both English and Filipino.

Dinagat to sue 2 more mining firms for unpaid taxes SURIGAO City -- Two more mining companies will be included in the lawsuit filed by the Province of Dinagat Islands for refusal to settle local tax obligations.

Provincial Information Officer Jane Mayola identified the companies as Wellex Mining Corp. and AAM-PHIL Natural Resources Exploration and Development Corp.

These mining firms have been extracting nickel ore in Dinagat and shipping them abroad.

Mayola said Wellex Mining which operates in the towns of Libjo, Tubajon and Loreto has unpaid taxes of P24.8 million, and Aamphil P12.4 million.

She said the provincial board has authorized Gov. Glenda Ecleo to file cases against these companies for their failure to settle their Soil Depletion Tax Liability.

Three other mining firms, Cagdianao Mining Corp. (CMC), Krominco Inc. and Century Peak

Corp., which are also shipping nickel ore abroad, will be included in the lawsuit.

CMC, a subsidiary of Nickel Asia Corporation, has the highest liability amounting to at least P174.8 million.

This includes “interests and penalties since 2009 until 2014 shipments of minerals”.

Century Peak has a liability of P22.5 million while Krominco has an outstanding balance of P6.9 million.

Cagdianao Mining operates in Cagdianao town, Krominco has been mining in Libjo town while Century Peak has been operating in Libjo and Loreto.

Enacted by the provincial board in 2009, the Soil Depletion Tax imposes a one-percent tariff on gross receipts of all mineral ore “extracted and/or shipped” from the province.

“The provincial government of Dinagat Islands is in the process

of filing a case at Regional Trial Court Brach 32 against these mining companies that were unable to pay Soil Depletion Tax,” said Board member Mario Menil.

Eight large-scale mining companies currently operate in Dinagat, which is a declared mineral reservation. That means on top of the two-percent excise tax, mining companies in the province also pay five-percent royalty based on the market value of the gross output of the

minerals they extract.

Earlier, Dulmar M. Raagas, president of the Chamber of Mines-Caraga Region Inc., said most of their members consider the Dinagat tax to be a form of double taxation.

Raagas considers this tax excessive saying other mining provinces don’t have the same tax scheme.

Editorial

Securing watersheds, averting natural disasters Since Agusan-Cugman cluster of watesheds cuts across political boundaries, there is a compelling need to focus on this regardless of parochial, political and business our leaders may have.

At this time, Cagayan de Oro and many parts of the country are reeling with extreme heat due to the absence of rain and surprisingly high temperatures during the day. There have been reports of parched farmlands, dried up irrigations systems, aborted farm harvests and even slowed down laying of eggs of domesticated birds.

Ironically, there are also places where flooding occurs and raining of solid water (ice). While we are aware that the dry spell is primarily attributed to the El Nino phenomenon as a concrete manifestation of global climate change, we are uncertain when will these erratic and debilitating situations ever stabilized so that these becomes predictable for our weather forecasters and the general public. Indeed, we are in precarious situations.

We have experienced among the worst natural disasters and no place in the Philippines—perhaps throughout the world—that is totally safe from natural disasters.

This, if we take heavy rains and flooding, tornadoes and typhoons, landslides and lightning bolts, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes, storm surges and tsunamis come into mind. But we still believe that the damage these natural disasters bring can still be reduced, if not managed, through proper preparation, adequate knowledge, timely response and strength of character.

There are a lot of ways where we can be prepared,

acquire know-how, be responsive and be resilient. One of these responses which would have rippling and longlasting effects is in securing our remaining watersheds, the water-catchment areas. For us, in Cagayan de Oro, what is known by many is the Iponan watershed which is situated in the southwestern side of the city, named after Iponan river. This encompasses many upland barangays including those along the Macajalar bay. The other side of this water catchment basin flows down to the upstream of Cagayan de Oro river. These rivers caused massive flooding and left a trail of death and devastation in December 2011 due to supert typhoon Sendong. There have been initiatives on these two water bodies and their environs and these could somehow avert possible destruction should there be another flashflood due to heavy downpour.

What is being left out however is the eastern side of Cagayan de Oro, the so-called Agusan-Cugman cluster of five watersheds. There have been meetings of stakeholders so that collective efforts for rehabilitation, preservation and protection of remaining natural resources can be done. Since this cuts across political boundaries, there is a compelling need to focus on this regardless of parochial, political and business our leaders may have.

Chinese skullduggery in the West Philippine Sea Skullduggery is defined by the dictionary as “sneaky, dishonest behavior; or trickery.” No better word can describe the treacherous, illegal acts of China within Philippine territory just 120 miles (192 kms.) west of Palawan.

This word used to be associated with the notorious pirate Blackbeard and other brigands in the Caribbean; and now also in Somalia where ocean-going vessels get hijacked and despoiled of their valuable cargo.

In other words, skullduggery is a pejorative term, not appropriate for describing honorable behavior or activity of a civilized or diplomatic nature.

Thus, it defies understanding why China—a nation that boasts of being noble, honorable, and an exemplar of civilized conduct—should engage in what is tantamount to brigandage. How else to describe sly thievery and land grabbing in territory that clearly belongs to the Philippines? ***** Far from the mainland, China is dredging sand from around the coral reefs of Spratly Islands and using it to build up

In other words, they are converting the area into an outpost for enforcing an illegal claim to ownership of the West Philippine Sea territory and its resources. If they get away with this, they can also claim an additional 200 miles as an Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ)—enough to claim or annex all of Palawan!

When our government called their attention to this illegal entry, pointing out that they are trespassing our EEZ, which accords with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), they either ignore it or arrogantly wave our officials away in a bullying manner backed by a show of force.

men who sail into the waters there to fish, as they and the forefathers have done for ages, they are shooed away. Just last April 13, the Chinese coast guard attacked them with water cannons.

Even when it is obvious that the fishermen are merely taking shelter from a breaking storm, their plight is ignored and treated as intruders. ***** China is turning out to be a bully in our regional neighborhood. Mr. Xi Jinping, just two years into his job as China’s new leader, is behaving like a terrorist, employing brute force instead of diplomacy with a friendly country like ours.

No one can deny how we have welcomed Chinese to our shores for centuries, allowing them to survive and thrive, even granting them citizenship. They have virtually unlimited access to our nation’s patrimony and natural resources.

Just this past week, it was revealed in Congress that China’s entrepreneurs hold more than 200 mining concessions/ contracts throughout the Philippines. ***** To the Chinese Government, none of these seem to count for anything! What’s more worrisome is how they utilize the minerals they cart away from our mountains, plains, and coastal areas.

The iron, copper, silver, even gold, and other minerals they get from us may actually be used in the manufacture of munitions and other equipment that can then be employed to intimidate our citizens in areas they covet.

Last year, the Vietnamese reacted angrily to China’s attempt to establish a billion-dollar oil-drilling rig not far

from Vietnam’s coast.

That incident confirmed China’s economic motive for wanting to establish hegemony in the Spratly Islands.

They want to grab control of our undersea oil deposits there, as well as other marine resources which we have yet to develop for lack of industrial and financial capacity. ***** Not only does China pursue these mercenary objectives, it does so by showing its ugly, bullying side. And it’s no secret that there’s a military motive as well.

Satellite photos show that their frantic dredging activity (on-going for over two years now) has created three new islands already, with capacity to accommodate and service the requirements of warships. Last November, photos showed one island already 3,000 meters long and 300 meters wide, with docking facilities.

Clearly, this illegal and arrogant Chinese activity is a national security issue. And the sad thing about it is there’s not much that we can do against their military might. We need to See valdehuesa, page 11

The Apocalypse of the 70’s and Masagana 99 WILL you still be there when I am 64? Counting all those years as I run the memories in my mind, I stop at the period of the student’s awakening movement during my college days and asked this question to my soul.

The 70’s witnessed the turbulence in the streets of Manila as activist march from the University Belt of Morayta to Mendiola shouting the isms found in the vocabulary and other intimidating slogans which call to unseat an overstaying leader of this country. Perhaps, borne from restless ideals which were infectious in the youth movement towards a maligned President to include our ally and defender, the United States of America. Student leaders who came from the best schools in the national capital region were beginning to influence my surroundings at the same time sow confusions in my mind. I ponder on some issues why many students should dislike Marcos when he has built the longest bridge in the country and cemented the roads in many Barangays where children can play street ball? What was wrong with the US when they have the best products in the world that we want to have in our homes? Those were questions reminiscent of my youth reflecting my orientation away from the progressive movement which is an apocalypse now.

THE REAL ISSUE OF THE INDEPENDENCE QUESTION: THE ECONOMIC PHASE In 1931, the 13 Million Filipinos of the Philippines maintain that it is the duty as well as the privilege of every citizen to assert himself concerning their problems of their country. Thus we speak neither as a politician, nor as one controlled by the financial interests of the Philippines.

As Filipino citizens we aim to prove why we believe the Philippine Islands are as able to rule themselves economically as well as politically.

We consider it presumptuous on the part of American politicians to say that because the Philippines have not established themselves economically, Independence should still be denied them. In 1776 when America obtained her freedom from England, was she economically ready? It is not here necessary to relate the real economic conditions of the thirteen colonies at the time they obtained their freedom, for it is a well-known fact that they were still economically dependent and comparing their status with the Philippines now, the islands are better prepared economically than was America in 1776.

The conditions laid down in the Jones Law of 1916 required only the establishment of a stable government.

A permanent economic structure was not mentioned. Opponents of Independence refuse to discuss the conditions of the Jones Law knowing the Philippine Government has met the requirements therein, but aim to intimidate the Filipino people with arguments in which they picture the economic ruin of the Islands. They picture poverty in its most dreadful stages, thus seeking to convince the ambitious and industrious Filipino that his only hope of financial success lay in his willingness to be guided

by Uncle Sam. The present uncertain status of the Philippines, which has been sapping what otherwise would have been a robust, economic constitution must give way to a definite and permanent solution of our status. And the only hope for this solution is the granting of immediate and complete Independence.

When a child becomes of age he is sent by its parents into the world to face life for itself, if it clings to his mother’s skirts after he has matured, he becomes dependent and helpless, and so it is with the Philippines, we have clung to the

In the annals of historical events, Filipino Federation of America President-Dr. & 5-Star General Hilario Camino Moncado was the ORIGINATOR of the idea that the PHILIPPINE REPUBLIC should have its beginning or establishment upon an anniversary of the American Independence Day which was written into Section 10 of the Act of March 23, 1934, and pursuant to which the Philippine Republic was established on July 4, 1946.

In August of 1941, Dr. Moncado and his wife, Diana Toy Moncado, left the mainland for Honolulu. Upon arrival, he organized a drive to buy U.S. Savings Bonds and Stamps (then known as War Bonds) for the United States defense program.

Members of the Federation devoted much of their time and effort to aid the Hawaii War Savings Staff and were instrumental in the sales of millions of dollars- worth of bonds.

Prior to his departure for the Philippines, the territorial officers of the Federation headed by Mr. Benigno O. Escobido, Chairman of Public Relations, were designated in his behalf. Dr. Moncado and Mrs. Moncado arrived in the Philippines on September 21, 1941 and launched his campaign for the Presidency against President Manuel L. Quezon on the issue of Dominion Status for the Philippines instead of complete independence at a time when an international was being fought in Europe.

The Philippine electorate debated on whether to accept President Quezon’s Independence or Dr. Moncado’s Dominion Status under the protection of the United States. The election was held on November 11, 1941. Out of 3,500,000 electors, he was defeated by only 10,000 votes. It was indeed a good fight for the United States.

President Moncado, who was given the task of serving as the Federation’s Goodwill Ambassador, was granted an audience with President Herbert Hoover of the United States. He was accompanied by Congressman Joe Crail, U.S. Senator Hiram Johnson and U.S. Senator Shortbridge, all of California.

On that solemn occasion, President Moncado presented an International Gold Goodwill Medal to President Hoover of the United States on behalf of the Filipino Federation of America. The presentation of the gold goodwill medal was held on February 7, 1930. While he was in Washington D.C., President H.C. Moncado appeared to present his arguments for Philippine Independence before the Committee on Territories and Insular Affairs of the United States Senate during the Seventy-First Congress of February 10, 1930.

The Federation published a periodical, the Filipino Nation, a monthly magazine which sought to serve both Filipinos and Americans, reporting important news concerning the United States and the Philippines. It carried on a strong and enthusiastic campaign in support of Philippine Independence. It further devoted its pages to special articles on the history of the Constitution of the United States and the American way of life, which would be of benefit and knowledge to those Filipinos who came from the Philippines to the United States.

In the early part of December 1931, the Filipino Federation again delegated is President Hilario Camino Moncado, to go to Washington, D.C. to plead for Philippine Independence.

In 1932, he appeared before Congress when the Act of March 24, 1934 was under consideration for the creation of the Philippine Commonwealth. (The Tydings-macDuffie Act Public Law 127, 73rd Congress.

With his fight for Philippine Independence-Quezon, Roxas and other Philippine leaders won the fight as to who would be given then identity-they were given the credit but since 1927 upon the foundation of the Federation of America-Dr. Hilario Camino Moncado was real champion for PHILIPPINE INDEPENDECE. His fight was fought inside the territories of the United

States as a dominion and work for real independence. However, he was defeated.

The officers and members of the Filipino Federation of America in Hawaii were instrumental in urging Delegate Joseph R. Farrington to work hard for the Naturalization Bill in Congress in order to make possible for Filipinos as well as other nationalities on the Mainland to become American Citizens.

Before Statehood, members of the Filipino Federation were also instrumental in endorsing Hawaii, then a territory, to become a state of the Union.

Surigao Norte town to probe gas leak from nickel processing plant CLAVER, Surigao del Norte -- The municipal government of Claver, through the municipal council, will be conducting an investigation on the pre-dawn gas leak from a nickel processing plant in Surigao del Norte, where residents complained of nausea and headache, with six of them rushed to the hospital.

Municipal administrator Ernesto P. Sulapas told MindaNews Wednesday that the gas leak at Barangay Taganito occurred 3:12 a.m. last April 14.

Taganito High Pressure Acid Leaching Nickel Corporation (THPAL) acknowledged the leak to the media the day after.

“The company will be summoned by the municipal council and they have to explain what really happened last week,” Sulapas said.

“Several persons suffered headache and nausea and there were reportedly six people who were rushed to the hospital,” he added.

Sulapas said the company had sent its entire medical staff to the suffering villagers.

Claver Mayor Eddie Gokiangkee and the local health unit, Sulapas said, also responded by dawn.

THPAL said that based on their preliminary investigation, it was learned that the leak may have been “due to a closed electronic isolation valve which may not have been completely closed for some reason.”

The company produces mixed sulfides of nickel and cobalt from low-grade ore through a process called high-pressure acid leaching (HPAL). The process entails the use of hydrogen sulfide –­ a poisonous substance – and other chemicals.

From its multi-stage scrubber facility, the company said a “small residual volume” of hydrogen sulfide had reached the community in Barangay Taganito, where its plant is located, particularly Puroks 1, 3, 4 and 5.

The leak occurred during the “purging activity” in its multi-stage reactors, the company said.

As a result, the leak released hydrogen sulfide into the air at the levels of around “4-5 PPM” (parts per million), or 6 to 7.5 milligram per cubic meter.

The company claimed such levels are within the emission standards set by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

It acknowledged, however, that the residents “affected by the leak complained of nausea and headaches.” The company said “countermeasures were immediately taken and the situation is back to normal and safe condition.”

It said consultations with the affected residents and local officials were immediately conducted, while medicines were dispensed to those who experienced discomforts.

The company also asked for apologies, saying it was “confident that incidents like this will be eliminated in the future.”

“The company will exert its best efforts to coexist safely and progressively with everybody in the community,” it added.

On July 4, 2013 people in Taganito also panicked as the company emitted foul odor when it was commissioned for testing.

Surpassing Quantum Encryption CTO Reflections

IT security is a fast moving and exciting field to be in. Fascinating industry news greets me almost every morning.

Recently I read that the University of Science and Technology of China in Hefei, China is leading a project to build the world’s longest quantum communication network stretching 2,000km between Beijing and Shanghai by 2016. The builders hope to give completely secure communication to users though quantum encryption.

That’s certainly a big ambition.

A quantum communication network is, in theory, unbreakable. Any attempt to intercept the encryption key would alter the physical status of the quantum data, or

qubits, and trigger an alert to the communicators. Currently, there are several other labs in various countries around the world are looking to tap into this technology.

Is quantum encryption the holy grail of IT security, if such a pinnacle exists? I can certainly relate to the quantum encryption developers’ dogged pursuit of unhackable security technology, but that doesn’t stop me from asking if one single technology - no matter how perfect - can be the be-all and end-all solution to one of the most complex problems facing mankind today.

I can see two hurdles standing between quantum encryption and widespread adoption – the cost-benefit proposition,

and more importantly, the existence of weak links in other parts of the security system even if quantum encryption itself is impenetrable.

Are the Benefits Worth the Cost?

There are no clear indications of quantum encryption’s costs yet but it’s likely to be high, especially at the initial stages when the technology is immature and the pool of users is small. Businesses are all about increasing profit and reducing expenditure - low cost encryption technologies that are secure enough for most enterprise applications already exist today. So how will organisations justify the big jump in costs for moving to quantum encryption?

Your Enterprise is as Secure as its Weakest Link The tougher challenge lies in the fact that security is an interconnected system, not an isolated jigsaw piece. If quantum encryption is really hard to crack, cybercriminals will look for a weaker link in the security system to target. They could, for instance, use social engineering to gain knowledge on how to access confidential data, or they could, like most hackers do today, plant malicious software in end-users’ computers to steal their data when it is at rest.

Since quantum en-

cryption only promises to protect data in motion - which is just one link of the entire security chain - labeling it as an “unbreakable security” technology is overreaching. Many technologies lie beyond quantum encryption, and many domains lie beyond technology.

Boosting overall security requires us to continuously strengthen the weakest link of the chain, as and when it appears. To be successful, there must be concerted, industry-wide action to concurrently upgrade individual components of the security chain.

That means that while security solution providers work hard to share threat information and develop their technologies, enterprises and consumers must take time to learn more about cyber security and guard against attacks, CERT teams must improve their response capabilities; and institutions worldwide must step up their efforts to groom cyber security talent.

The list goes on, and the stakeholders involved are many. These stakeholders need to do their earnest best in their respective fields, and cooperate with one another.

That - not quantum encryption alone - is the real key to making the world a more secure and livable place.

Cagayan de Oro expressed alarm over the growing number of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) cases in the city.

City Councilor Dante Pajo, chair of the city council committee on health and sanitation, said local health office has already recorded a total of 64 HIV cases in 2014.

HIV cases in Cagayan de Oro City have been consistently rising - from 45 cases in 2008 to 64 cases at the end of 2014, Pajo said.

HIV weakens the body’s immune system and its failure leads to the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).

It is reported that from 2008 to 2014, the total number of HIV-AIDS cases in the city has gone up to 133, Pajo said.

Of the 64 cases, 63 were males. The HIV was transmitted through “men having sex with men.” The HIV cases now appeared to be higher than the traditional sexually transmitted disease (STD).

“The number of HIV cases could be more.

Health officials have the suspicion that some HIV patients refused to undergo medical examination because of misconception alluded to the disease,” Pajo said.

Dr. Evelyn Magsayo, of the regional Department of Health, earlier described the spread of HIV in northern Mindanao as “fast and furi-

ous.”

MOCAN, a coalition of government and private institutions on HIV-AIDS concerns, has reported last year that the “youngest patient” recorded in the region was a 14-yearold male while the oldest was a 70-year-old man.

Pajo said the DOH has two HIV testing centers in Cagayan de Oro City, one at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and the other at the J.R. Borja Hospital.

Consultation and medicines are given for free at the HIV testing centers, Pajo said.

Cagayanon, Pinay among Boston marathon finishers Ethiopian, Kenyan runners rule field of elite men and women marathoners

Among the 30,251 runners who were entered in the 119th Boston Marathon on Monday (April 20, 2015) were Filipinos, according to organizer Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.).

Cagayan de Oro resident Carlos R. Malazarte, 52, who have been participating in road races in the city in the past including Milo National Marathon qualifying events, had race number 26577 and joined the 4/3 wave of runners.

Thirty-eight year old Jaymie C. Pizarro of Paranague City, a U.S. certified baby sign language instructor who has into

triathlon competitions, was with the 4/7 group and finished with race number 30164.

Clockings of both Malazarte and Pizarro however were not officially released, as of this writing. The B.A.A. however has already released the names and the clocking of the top 100 runners in both elite male and female categories.

Ethiopian Lelisa Desisa, 25, cruised to the finish line in 2:09:17 for his second title in the grueling 42.146-distance road race, an improvement of his 2013 clocking of 2:10:22 in winning the same course for elite men runners.

Finally, tickets on sale for Mayweather, Pacquiao megafight With just eight days to go until their highly anticipated fight, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have finally reached an agreement on contract details that will allow tickets to be put on sale, according to Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports.

While it may seem like a minor thing, the inability to reach an agreement on the ticket distribution had turned the entire fight into a debacle, and the fight itself appeared to be more and more at risk with each passing day. While there was an agreement in place between the fighters, there was still no contract between the promoters and the MGM casino where the fight will take place, Iole reports.

The agreement was reached during a conference call orchestrated by CBS CEO Leslie Moonves, according to the report.

Bob Arum, the chairman of Pacquiao’s promoter Top Rank, confirmed to Iole that they are just waiting for the paperwork to sign.

“If what we agreed upon is in the paperwork we receive, we will sign it and the tickets will be released,” Arum told Yahoo! Sports.

The total revenue from ticket sales is expected to be $72 million, a big chunk of the $300 million Mayweather and Pacquiao are expected to split.

Details about how much the two fighters will make and where the money will come from are starting to emerge, and the amounts are stagger-

ing.

At the end of the day, both boxers are expected to make “well over $100 million” regardless of who wins, according to John Branch of the New York Times. The payouts would be more than twice as much as any other payday in boxing history.

Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter, confirmed that Mayweather’s down payment before the fight alone will be $50 million and Leonard Ellerbe, chief executive of Mayweather Promotions, would only say that Mayweather’s

check will be “a lot more than $50 million.”

Branch took a closer look at the numbers and says that once all the revenue is added up, the two fighters could split “around $300 million” for the 12-round fight.
