La Viña assumes Phividec top post Volume IX, No. 332

ANILA --Jose Gabriel “Pompee” La Viña has assumed another government post, this time as Administrator and Chief Operating Officer of PHIVIDEC Industrial Authority. La Viña took his oath before Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana in a ceremony held at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 10 AM. He replaced Lawyer Franklin Quijano who was transferred to the National Commission of Senior Citizens as Chairman and CEO under the Office of the President. CDO Mayor to file raps against law enforcers By CRIS DIAZ Executive Editor
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Cagayan De Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno is filling charges against law enforcers for alleged “harassment” of medial workers here. A visibly irked Moreno ordered a probe of law enforcers who reportedly threatened medical workers in a holding area while conducting “swab testing” on clients. “We will not let this incident pass,” Moreno said on Tuesday. He said he also wants to confirm whether the law enforcers reportedly threatened the medical personnel with their guns. Moreno said that the medical technologists were conducting “swab testing” on inmates and personnel at the city jail when the incident allegedly took place. One of the law enforcers was allegedly angered because he wanted the result of his “swab test” to be given preference, Moreno said.
