28th Mindanao Business Conference opens in Iligan By MIKE BAÑOS Editor at Large

ILIGAN CITY -- The biggest business conference in Mindanao opens today in this Majestic City of Waterfalls with the theme “Mindanao – The Emerging Investment Destination.” Organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation of Iligan Inc. (CCIIFI) the program proper will be held at the MSU-IIT Gymnasium at Barangay Tibanga. Registration already began yesterday at the Atrium of Robinson’s Place Iligan with a Franchising Seminar at Max’s Restaurant by the Philippine Franchise As-

sociation. Today’s events start with the soft opening this morning of the trade exhibits/ food bazaar at the MSUIIT Gym Exhibit Area and two technical sessions at GoHotels Iligan (Overview of the Halal Industry and Requirements for Halal Certification by DOSTRegion X and a by invitation only seminar on Chamber Management by the Phil Chamber Development Institute (PCCI). Friday, September 13 events kicks off with Franchise Negosyo Para sa Iligan (a free seminar on Expo Business Matching) at Robinson’s Place Iligan Atrium. DOTr changes Laguindingan airport expansion modality THE Department of Transp or t ation (D OTr) has changed the process through which the expansion of the Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental would be undertaken in response to the clamor of the business sector.
