President Duterte reorganizes Task Force Bangon Marawi President Rodrigo Roa Duterte reorganized the composition of Task Force Bangon Marawi. The President signed Administrative Order No. 9 last October 27 ordering the change in the structure of the Task Force as he saw the necessity of a full-blown reconstruction, following Marawi City’s liberation from the control of ISISbacked terrorist groups. Task Force B angon Marawi is now headed by the Chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC), with the Secretary of Department of National Defense (DND), the former Task Force chairman, and the Secretary of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) as Co-Vice Chairpersons. “The Chairman of the HUDCC as head of the Task Force Bangon Marawi shall

have operational control and supervision of the said Task Force and the overall responsibility to ensure that the objectives of this Order are accomplished,” AO No. 9 said. Further, the Sub-Committee on Housing, formerly under the Office of the Cabinet Secretary, will also be headed by the HUDCC, which will be “primarily responsible for the immediate rehabilitation and construction of temporary or permanent shelters, and the restoration of water, electricity, and other public utilities.” On the other hand, the Sub-Committee on Security, Peace and Order will now be co-headed by the DND and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Joint operatives arrested two alleged members of a local terrorist cell that supposedly doubles as protector of a major drug group in an operation late Wednesday night in Maasim town in

Sarangani Province. Gil Cesario Castro, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Region 12 director, identified the suspects as brothers Faroon Lumatao, 35, and Alhotaibby Lumatao, 36, both listed as high-value drug targets. He said the brothers were

Think a minute. Have you ever stood by a fire when the smoke was so thick you almost thought you could grab it with your hands. But if you try, the smoke just disappears right through your fingers. It’s like that when we try to be humble. We grab for humility, but as soon as we think we’ve got it, it disappears like smoke through our fingers. You see, we trick ourselves when we start to think that we’re humble, because in our mind and heart we actually start feeling proud of ourselves that we’re humble. So you see, we’re still very proud. Our problem is the subtle, deceptive nature of pride. It makes us self-

conscious, thinking about ourselves and how we good we are or look in front of others. Our pride competes and compares ourselves with others. That’s why we get angry when someone treats us like we’re not important. Our pride makes us want to act and impress others with how humble we are, when inside we still think we’re more important than some people. This is also why many people want to become rich millionaires. You see, if everybody in the world had a million dollars, then not many people would really want to be a millionaire because they would not be richer than anyone else. If everyone in the world had a high

political position of respect and power, then not many people would want that kind of position because they would not be more respected and powerful than anyone else. PROMOTING SPORTS IN BARANGAY GASI, LAGUINDINGAN, MISOR – The Barangay Council of Barangay Gasi in Laguindingan, headed by Barangay Chairman GEMBOT BAGAS, recently received a set of tempered glass basketball boards and balls from VICE GOVERNOR JOEY G. PELAEZ. The activity was witnessed by the Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Police Officers, headed by Chief Tanod MABAO VILAMOR, and residents of the Barangay. Since 2013, Vice Governor Pelaez has distributed more than 500 fiber glass, tempered glass and marine boards to different Barangays and Sitios in the Province.

Official Statement on Re-assignments of Executives Involved in Admin Case State-run Social Security System (SSS) on Thursday confirmed the re-assignments of its officials involved in an administrative case. It said the re-assignments of executives have been implemented in the exigency of service. The SSS administration said the action will also pave way for an objective, transparent, and fair investigation of the on-going administrative complaint, and due process will be strictly observed in the investigation. Charges in the administrative complaint are still subject for further investigation. Likewise, the re-assign-

ments will avoid any suspicion that the on-going investigation will be whitewashed. SSS reiterated that it has institutionalized procedures to address administrative complaints. Such mechanisms ensure all parties are given due process. SSS guarantees its members that the Investment Reserve Fund, which came from members’ contributions and investment income, is intact, well-protected, and professionally managed. MANILA -- The Department of Tourism (DOT) on Thursday said the implementation of the visa upon arrival (VUA) program will drive more Chinese tourists, particularly followers of Mazuism to look at the Philippines as its next festival hub. In the journey of schooling, students are not totally entitled to do academic works all the time. They must explore and look for the skills that they think suited to their personality and hobbies. They look for outside of the school activities or this they call extra-curricular activities. In this connection we already know one of the most anticipated activity inn schools at all levels; elementary, s e cond ar y and e ven in college and that the scouting activity. This is the time that learners are being emerged to various physical activities and challenges. This is the activity that most school age anticipates. The month of October is the culminating month for all the scouters and all the learners who intend to witness and emerged themselves to the scouting activity. This moth, participating schools send their scouters to participate in this activity. The question there is why most of the scouters look forward for this activity? What are those things that they want to experience in scouting? Well, there must be something very wonderful experience in this event that most of the student cannot afford to let it pass. From what they always say, experience i s t h e b e s t te a ch e r. In this line of profession, being a teacher we should ensure that our learners learn the best and meaningful knowledge. It is very obvious that the government knows that kind of factor. Scouting is one of the ventures that they think the learners can gain knowledge even though it is outside from the four corners of the classroom. Scouting provides various physical activities that teach the learners to survive and be fit in this modernized world. Activities such as crossing the tires while jumping, long jump, crossing the river full of mud, untying the ropes, tying it, and a lot of activities

which corresponds to life-long learning from the experience they got are such an excitement experienced by scouters. The learning process in this certain type of activity last long to the learners, because they actually experience the activities. According to some group mates of ours they all the experience in scouting even if it is in elementary still remains in their memory. Where even the facts that from what they learn in scouting are the things that they still use today. One important thing also that scouting experiences give is the value of cooperation among teammates, they get to know and acknowledge the capacity of one another, learn from each other. That factor or scenarios encompasses all the experiences in scouting. The bottom line of every human experience is the way how they use it into good and approachable actions. Every experiences from scouting creates a factor or an impact to the memoirs of the learner, the fact that these memories still remains in the heart and minds, this goes to show that it is indeed a wonderful, and treasured moments to all of us. Having said that we must use all the things that we learn from scouting to teach other people and teach them almost all of what we learn, so the we will be able to let them know the good things that scouting may brought to their life. Let us be mindful that in order to put good memories to other people is showing it yourself to them, t he e x p e r i e nc e t h at we got from scouting was totally wonderful, but we must this into good deeds and action that even though we are not scouting anymore, we act like all the knowledge and skill we learned are truly use and will serve as model. That way we can say that everything in scouting is wonderful that it made us who we are by showing it to them.

Practicing professional Journalism is built and cultivated on discipline, analysis, explanation and context. These must be adapted by social media practitioners.     Social media as citizen journalism must uphold collaboration, openness and culture as rules.     Social media is not only important for citizen journalism, but for reaching out to the readers as well. Mainstream media are exploring the use of social media to drive traffic according to Reuters.     Today, we can see that social tools such as Facebook and Twitter are inspiring readers to become citizen journalists. They now can easily publish and share information to a larger audience.     Social media practitioners as citizen journalists will be more entrenched on their communities.
