MANY people have tried to win recognition for what local historians claim was the only Katipunan-led revolt in Mindanao at the time of the Cry of Balintawak in 1896, but to this day, the cloak of censorship thrown by Spanish authorities over the so-called Calaganan Mutiny has effectively stifled efforts to put it in its rightful place of honor in the annals of the Philippine Revolution against Spain. FOR its children’s development plan and initiatives using the framework of Jean Piaget’s Stages of Cognitive Development, the city government of Cagayan de Oro was given the Presidential Awardee of Search for Most Child Friendly City 2018- Highly Urbanized City Category. The award was handed out by President Duterte himself to Mayor Oscar Moreno during ceremonies held Thursday afternoon at the Rizal Hall of Malacañan Palace. Moreno joined executives from Carmona (Cavite), Sto. Tomas (La Union) and the cities of Tagaytay and Naga in receiving the award for their respective categories. Andanar initiates rehab of Radyo Pilipinas in Oro By ALLAN MEDIANTE
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar initiated the rehabilitation of DXIM Radyo Pilipinas (former Radyo ng Bayan), a government radio facility, in this city yesterday. Andanar, presented the new equipment and instruments (consoles, computers, etc) to private and government media workers who were invited to a joint press conference
at the Radio Station’s main building along Velez St, this city. The PCOO secretary took note that the equipment being used by the radio station is already more than 27 years old and are already outmoded. “We intend to rehabilitate all government radio stations so that government media can efficiently, serve the public,” adding that he has already started rehab of government radio stations in Layte and See INITIATES, page 11
