Phividec new administrator cites Tesda role in nation building

TAGOLOAN, Misamis Oriental– PHIVIDEC Industrial Authority Administrator and CEO has cited the role of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Region X in providing quality technical education and skills development programs for the labor sector. La Vina expressed this gratitude during a business call of TESDA region X Regional Director Tarhata Mapandi and her staff Wednesday at the PHIVIDEC-IA office at MCT Complex In Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. investments like the integrated steel mill to PHIVIDECIA, La Vina underscored the need for more skilled workers duly trained by TESDA-X through its accredited technical training schools spread across the region. Once the integrated steel plant is issued the green light to operate, some 10,000 skilled workers are needed to fill in the manpower requirements of the project, and TESDA-trained individuals has the fair advantage to get hired first, he said. This is on top of the more than 30,000 odd jobs that would be created by downstream businesses, among which are support providers and suppliers like transport services, manpower agencies, stores, eateries, security, hardwares, parlors, etc.

DAVAO CIT Y, Nov. 19 (PIA)- After reviewing the surge of cases here in Davao City, the Chief Implementer of the National Task Force Against COVID-19- Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. wants to end the practice of home quarantine for COVID-19 patients as it contributes to community transmission. “Kapag nagkakaroon po tayo ng home quarantine, susunod po diyan ang

City. Sec. Galvez noted that the temporary treatment facilities is only 27.7% occupied which means there are many who are home quarantined. He said based on experience in Metro Manila, Laguna and Cebu about 75% of asymptomatic patients were quarantined in their own homes and this contributed to the explosion of cases.
