AGAYAN de Oro City - Rotary International president’s representative Muhammad Faiz Kidwai heaped praises on RI District 3870 during the first day of their Discon 2018 yesterday at Limketkai Atrium, this city.
Kidwai congratulated R I D i st r i c t 3 8 7 0 and its leadership after Governor Rosalinda Deleste announced that the District had surpassed the US$200,000 mark in contributions to the Rotary Foundation. "Ms. Deleste is perhaps one of the best governors of the Rotary International today. Her achievements speak for themselves," Kidwai remarked before an audience of 600 comprising officers and selected members of the 46 clubs Rotary International District 3870 Discon 2018 opening at the Atrium of Limketkai Center. Cutting the ribbon is Rotary International President Representative (RIPR) Muhammad Faiz Kidwai assisted by Lady Uzma, RI District in the district. Rotary Anns and spouses of Rotarians as well as members of the various Rotaract and Interact clubs from five zones of the district. Deleste's prolific tenure as RI District 3870 governor in RY 2017-2018 came at a time when Marawi City was besieged in a six-month long armed crisis. Two Rotary clubs in the vicinity - RC Marawi City and RC Metro Lanao - were initially affected but have since bounced back and are now helping in the rehabilitation efforts there.
