DAVAO CITY – The city government commemorated the 17th-year anniversary of the Sasa Airport bombing on Tuesday, remembering the victims of the horrific incident that claimed the lives of 22 people. Mayor Sara Duterte, who led the ceremony, said the March 4, 2003 bombing that also wounded dozens of individuals continues to evoke “painful memory” among the victims’ families. “For some of you, this is the site of the incident that has forever changed the lives of your families. We are not here to remember what happened but to remember the lives of your loved ones and honor their memory,” HONORING THE VICTIMS. ILIGAN CITY -- The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) continued its efforts to boost the government communications arm in the different areas in the country. In his visit this morning in Lanao del Norte, PCOO Chief Secretary Martin Andanar discussed with provincial governor Imelda Dimaporo this efforts by intensifying grassroots information dissemination on government projects and programs. Andanar said that the PCOO, as the government’s information arm, will be documenting the start of the construction of Panguil Bay Bridge. “Let the Filipino know its importance to the Zam-

boanga Peninsula and respective Municipalities. This is the longest bridge being constructed by this administration, longer than San Juanico Bridge. We are documenting Panguil Bay construction, so that the people could know about it,” Andanar said. “President Duterte is finally constructing the longest bridge in the Philippines,” he added. Geographically, Lanao del Norte is the center of Mindanao. Thus, communication-wise, it is very strategic, Lanao del Norte PIO Lyndon Calica told Secretary Andanar.
