Volunteers make 1,500 face shields for Iligan frontliners
ILIGAN CITY -- Volunteers from Motivation Philippines in cooperation with the Philippine Red Cross, this city, have been massproducing ‘do-it-yourself ’ (DIY) face shields to be distributed to COVID-19 frontliners. Dubbed as the “One Thousand Five Hundred Project,” these volunteers plan to make 1,500 pieces of improvised health protection shields. Al Azanereeh Madale, volunteer nurse and founder of Motivation Philippines, said around 300 face shields were already handed-out to front liners. “Nag-decide kami na gawin namin ito as soon as possible because we feel na may urgency. We also wanted to make our frontliners feel na meron ding mga taong concerned sa kanila,” Madale said. [“We decided to do this as soon as possible because we felt the urgency. SENATOR Christopher Lawrence Go will undergo a self-quarantine after having contact with a House lawmaker who tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19). In a statement issued Wednesday night, Go said he would follow quarantine protocols even though he is not exhibiting any symptoms of Covid-19.
“But since protocol requires that those who were directly exposed to persons positive for Covid-19 need to undergo self-quarantine, I am left with no choice but to comply,” he said. Go’s statement came after House appropriations committee chairperson Eric Yap tested positive for Covid-19.
