EL SALVADOR CITY - The City Police Office here has expedited the service of a search warrant for an unlicensed firearm and an arrest warrant for a wanted person recently, resulting in the detention of two personalities. CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City: Three inmates who bolted from prison cell in Bukidnon Wednesday night remains at large, P/Lt. Col. Michelle Olaivar, the regional police spokesperson, said Thursday. Olaivar identified the escapees as Devara Jimson, 25, Batuigas Rogue, 37, all of Libona, Bukidnon and Benjie Orias, 28, of Lingion, Manolo Forrich, also of Bukidnon. CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: More than 500 families in Butuan City’s flooded areas were evacuated to higher grounds due to heavy rains spawned by tropical storm “Dante” this week, the military said. A military report reaching here Friday said that 11 villages, mostly located in Butuan City’s southern outskirts were flooded prompting 575 families to move to safer grounds. Lt. Angel Grace Sabelina, the spokesperson of the army’s 28IB, based in Buenavista, Agusan del Norte, said that the relief, rescue and recovery operations started three days ago until Friday. “While some families returned to their houses, a number of evacuees remained at the evacuation centers assigned by the local gocernment units,”she said. DAR-Davao de Oro personally distributes government-owned lands to 252 farmers DEPARTMENT of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Brother John Castriciones commended the DAR provincial office of Davao de Oro for personally handing out land titles to 252 farmeroccupants of Davao National Agricultural School-Technical Education and Skills Authority (DNAS-TESDA) in Barangay Prosperidad, Montevista. The 350 certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs), with a total of 236.83 hectares of agricultural lands were personally delivered to the homes of the farmer-occupants who were identified as qualified as agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) of the 250-hectare governmentowned land in the town of Montevista. The delivery of land titles was done through the “Serbisyong DAR to DOOR,” one of the flagship programs of Brother John where he personally delivers land titles to the ARBs right in front of their
homes or farms, to intensify the turnover of land titles to the farmers especially during the period of the COVID-19 virus pandemic. “I have learned that these ARBs have been tilling these lands, planted with bananas, cacao and falcata trees for 30 years, and we have thought of rewarding their noble deeds by giving them these properties by personally delivering the CLOAs right at their doorsteps,” Brother John said. OIC-Assistant Regional Director Melchor Jamora said the lands were distributed through Executive Order No. 75 (EO 75), Series of 2019, which was issued by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in February 2019. “This is the first government-owned land in Davao Region under EO 75 and we were able to facilitate the speedy acquisition and distribution of the land under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP),” Jamora said. The joys of writing (a book)
OVER the weekend, I have been receiving very heartwarming feedback from readers who have perused my latest book “MIRA and Other Essays”. “Inspiring…. touching….. highly informative….real life drama…..” After much delay at the printer, the book came out, fortuitously on Mothers’ Day. And rightly so. Two outstanding mothers are featured in the book – my mother, Sofia V. Rivera, a former movie actress turned teacher, and my wife Mira, a pediatrician and mother of my three wonderful adult children – Trisha (married to Joy Rojas), Dondi and Frannie. The book, my third, is a biographical collection of notes, articles, speeches, lectures, Facebook posts, written by me or about me , my family, associates and my work. It is also about people who in one way or the other, touched my life. It is part romance, part drama, part action, part humor. It is also about other people and institutions who somehow influenced or changed the course of my life – the Kiwanis Club of Muntinlupa Rizal, and three Presidents – President Cory Aquino, President Fidel Valdez Ramos and President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. I started with an entry
in the diary of my mother on the day I was born, followed by my homage first to my father, Dr. Alfredo M. Bunye, then to my mother, Sofia V. Rivera (nee Gloria Imperial), my growing up years in the New Bilibid Prison Reservation, my high school principal, my unforgettable college classmates, my ROTC summer cadre training where I met for the first time my future wife, Miraflor T. Oca, my first job as a news reporter, my job at the Ayala group which was interrupted by an unplanned 30 year detour into the public service (Muntinlupa City, Metropolitan Manila Authority, Congress, Malacañan, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas) and finally my homecoming to the Bank of the Philippine Islands. The exception to the sequence is the article on my wife, Mira, who will always be first (and only) in my heart. “MIRA and Other Essays” came out close in the heals of my second book “From Leyte to Bessang Pass”. The book was supposed to have come out on or before August 15, 2020, the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II in the Pacific. Covid 19 delayed its release to November. a prolific writer, praised the “truthful, objective and easy-read historical account, free of victors’ braggadocio.” My fellow BPI Director Becky Fernando said: “Easy to read, very interesting unlike other historical books. I dread reading war stories but I am surprised I did not stop till I finished your book.” Another BPI colleague, Jay Luzuriaga, said: I shall share this with my two children, who are 32 and 28 years old, respectively, to keep historical accounts of the Second World War in our country alive in the minds and hearts of our much younger generations.” My former AIM classmate, General Manuel Mariano, suggested that “From Leyte to Bessang Pass” be adopted as recommended supplementary reading in the Philippine Military Academy and the Philippine National Police Academy. Former Press Secretary Tomas “Buddy” Gomez III described the book as “a must read”. “Gripping,” said writer Belinda OlivarezCunanan. For others, the book evoked fond memories of See JOYS, page 11

That our joy may be complete
THIS was what Christ promised to give us if we are united to him, like a branch to the vine. “If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love,” he said. “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” (Jn 15,10-11) With these words, we are clearly told where our true and complete joy will come from. It’s from Christ, from God, and not just from some earthly and temporal source. It’s a joy that we can always have in any season or weather, fair or foul. It’s a joy that transcends whatever earthly and temporal condition we may be in. Whether we are up or down, successful or defeated and lost, we can still have that joy. We need to work out our true union with Christ to have this kind of joy. To be sure, Christ is already with us. We should just be with him. And it’s not difficult to be with Christ, because he is already with us always. Being the pattern of our humanity, the savior of our damaged humanity,
he cannot be absent from us. It’s rather us who can dare to ignore and resist him. We have to be wary of that tendency and do something about it. For this, we really have to activate our faith that, if lived well, can always give us hope, in spite of tragedies that we can encounter in life. Faith lived well also gives us the ability to love everybody, whatever the conditions may be. A faith-based love makes everything beautiful and lovable, even if by worldly standards things are bad and ugly. And to realize that faith is something that is freely given to us by God should reassure us that whatever effort we make to live it will always produce its expected fruit. It is a God-given gift that is as abundant, or even more than the air we always have around. We should never hesitate to live it as best that we can. It surely would be helpful if we frequently meditate on the life and example of Christ as we go through all sorts of situations in his earthly life, and especially on his passion and death where the culminating ex-

pression of peace and joy can be contemplated and imitated. Obviously, what is ideal is for us to be able to assume the very identity of Christ who offers himself not only the way proper to us, nor the truth, but also the very life. (cfr. Jn 4,16) So for us to be completely one with Christ is not a gratuitous, baseless assertion. It is actually what is meant for us. And we have been given all the means for us to achieve that ideal. With Christ we can manage to be happy and at peace all the time. But we have to develop the proper attitude and practices to make that ideal real. And one thing that we can do is that at the end of each day, before we retire, we should make a good examination of conscience where at the end we seek reconciliation with God, regardless of how the day went. We should sleep every night in the arms of God, at peace and happy!

Enhancing t he te aching and learning experience, improving school management and administration processes and strengthening resiliency of disadvantaged schools are the main targets of the recently approved and released DepEd Order No. 21 series of 2021 also known as the Implementing Guidelines on the Release, Utilization, Monitoring and Reporting of Program Support Funds for the Pilot Implementation of Inclusion of Alternative Learning System in School-Based Management (ALS SBM) for School Year 2020-2021. In DepEd Region 10, at least eight (8) recipient schools were
identified where one is from Misamis Oriental Division specifically the Tagoloan National High School under Tagoloan District. A total of 100 pilot public elementary and secondary schools, whether classified as Implementing Units or NonImplementing Units provided with Program Support Funds amounted 117,900.00. Moreover, pursuant to its goal of providing quality, inclusive, relevant, and liberating opportunities to out-of-school youth and adult learners, the Alternative Learning System aims to develop basic and functional literacy skills and equivalent pathways towards complete basic education. Furthermore, the guidelines
aim to promote and support the inclusion of ALS in School-Based Management as indicated in the ALS 2.0 Roadmap. This is in line with the thrust of DepEd to strengthen and expand the ALS program, to pivot from access to quality consistent with Sulong Edukalidad, and to provide implementation guidelines to schools during the COVID-19 Pandemic. In addition, all DepEd Orders and other related issuances, rules and regulations, and provisions which are inconsistent with these guidelines are repealed, rescinded, or modified accordingly. Provided the advanced competencies in the ALS K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum, there is a need for ALS learning interventions to be held in a quite conducive learning atmosphere. As DepEd pivots from access to
quality and in compliance with the ALS 2.0 Roadmap, more schools should be able to implement ALS. To make it happen, it is important for ALS to be officially included in the formal School-Based Management concept, which has matured as a governance tool over the past two decades. DepEd Order 21 series of 2021 aims to ensure that the utilization of funds in support of ALS in SBM pilot implementation is managed efficiently, effectively, and strategically, even during the COVID-19 public health emergency, subject to the prevailing government accounting and auditing rules and regulations. Lastly, after the said piloting phase, the experiences of the pilot schools shall be evaluated to inform the policy in institutionalizing ALS in SBM.***

Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine By GERALD BON INTUD
The MECQ are implemented in areas tagged as containment zones. There is limited movement within this zone in obtaining essential services and work. Resumption of operations of selected manufacturing and processing plants are allowed up to a maximum of 50 percent workforce. Transportation services are also limited for essential goods and services. In schools there is suspension of physical classes The quarantine, eventually renamed as enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), were lifted after its imposition. However, with the new Covid variants and a still rising number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro this week, the ECQ has been modified into MECQ and imposed again. But what exactly are the differences between these types of quarantines? Here are some of the salient points of the guidelines for each type. In Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), essential workers (doctors, nurses, grocery
personnel, etc.) are allowed to go out. Non-essential workers will only be allowed to go out of their homes if they have to purchase groceries and other necessities. Just like ECQ, on MECQ, only essential industries will be allowed to operate—groceries, health services (pharmacies, veterinary clinics), and food manufacturing/production. But the government has also allowed certain manufacturing plants to operate, given that they only allow 50% of their work force. Transportation will still only be for essential workers. Schools will not be allowed to hold physical classes. In General Community Quarantine (GCQ), people living in barangays with no confirmed cases will be allowed to go out for work and other necessary errands. Government offices and some establishments will be allowed to resume operations, given that only 75% or less of its work force will be in the office premises. Transportation services is only

for government work and other allowed sectors. Flexible learning arrangements may be made for students and teachers–physical classes will be regulated. Based on Omnibus Guidelines, MECQ refers to the transition phase between ECQ and general community quarantine (GCQ), when the following temporary measures are relaxed and become less necessary: Stringent limits on movement and transportation of people; strict regulation of operating industries; provision of food and essential services; and heightened presence of uniformed personnel to enforce community quarantine protocols. Under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), all government offices and private businesses except those providing essential services, were required to work from home or closed. Public transportation was suspended, and everyone was required to practice social distancing and wear face masks. Under modified ECQ (MECQ), government offices and selected R. Based on the Inter-Agency Task Force against Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), any person below 18 years old, those who are over 65 of age, those with immunodeficiency, comorbidity, or other health risks, and pregnant women shall be required to remain in their homes at all times.

inquiring the veracity of the Certificates of Titles of the defendants with the Register of Deeds of the Province of Bukidnon. Copies of these letters are hereto attached as Annex “F” and , “F-1”. In conjunction with this request, a CERTIIFICATION was issued on April 17, 2015 by the Register of Deeds of Bukidnon telling among others that there is nothing in the records about the OCT No. 127 registered in the name of Juan Miranda. However, what is existing in the records is the Free Patent Title No.127 in the name of Margarita Cordovez with a land situated in Tankuland, Maluko, Bukidnon. And there is also a Homestead but Patent Title No. P 127 but in the name of Martiniano T. Neri and not that of Juan Miranda. So where did Juan Miranda get his title? I believed he got it fraudulently in Manila particularly in Recto Ave., where golden arms thrive there. A copy of this Certification is hereto attached as Annex F-2;
CIVIL CASE NO. 4913-17 FOR: DECLARATION OF NULLITY OF ACT NO. 127 and tct NO. 16001 WITH PRELIMINARY INJUCTION TRO and DAMAGES
10. That considering that the issue is here is about title of the property of the plaintiffs visà-vis the fake title of the defendants as proof of their (plaintiffs) possession and also to determine the jurisdiction of this Court, attached are the Tax Declaration of some of the occupants within the lot subject. Copies of them are hereto attached as Annexes G, G-1. G-2 and G-3. The total assessed value of the land is more than Twenty Thousand Pesos (P20, 000), thus it fails under the jurisdiction of the Regional Trial Court;
11. That regarding the Tax Declaration of Juan Miranda, it is admitted that one time the area Lot 688, Pis 98 Ext. happened to be the grazing land of the cattle of Juan Miranda, but after the removal of all cattle therefrom forty (40) years ago, defendants occupied the land being a government land since then. However, if only to scare the people occupying the area, the defendants who came from the Luzon, got a recto made Certificate of Title and fake it, and maintain their alleged ownership of the land when actually they have no title thereto;
12. That regarding Joselito Miranda’s title to the subject property as to how he was able to allegedly title the property to himself, which was alleged to be owned by Juan Miranda, Joselito alleged that the former allegedly executed AFFIDAVIT OF WAIVER OF RIGHT AND INTEREST OVER PARCEL OF LAND LOT 688, PIS 98 EXT. in his favour. Acopy of the same is hereto attached as Annex ”H”. The first paragraph of the said Waiver tells that the area of the land waived constitute an area of six hectares more or less covered by tax declaration no. 4207 and Sales Patent Application SA-V-7044;
13. That after a thorough scrutiny of the said Waiver, it was found out that that land covered by Sales Patent Application SA-7044 is not that Juan Miranda but that of Jose Miranda. The CERTIFICATION dated March 4, 2013 issued by CENRO Pangantucan, Bukidnon, negates said Sales Patent Application, for the Sales Application of Juan M. Miranda was SA-V-7262 and not SA-V-7044. A copy of this Certification is hereto attached as Annex “ H-1”;
14. That regarding that Transfer Certification of Title of Joselito Miranda which allegedly emanated from OCT No. 127, it is noticed that there are two (2) sets of identifying numbers which is kind of surprising if not questionable. The first Certificate of Title No. 16001 bears an identification number 0000090924 while the second and the same Certificate of Title No. 16001 bears an identification number 0000090923. This is indeed kind of amazing plus the strings of other questionable circumstances leading to this case pushed plaintiffs in filing this action for declaration of nullity of this fake Certificates of Title;
15. That for the Court’s guidance and/or bird eye view of the lot subject, a copy of the Technical Description issued on September 18, 2012 by the DENR Region 10, Cagayan de Oro City reveals the size and the proximate location of the lot subject to the highway in Maramag. Also, it reveals that the same is still a public land taken from its description that said lot has “NO CLAIMANT” Said document is hereto attached and marked as ANNEX “I “
16. That the plaintiffs are threatened of eviction by the defendants, through violence, even with the knowledge that their title fake to the lot subject evidenced by their questionable and/ or fake Certificate of Title is alarming; and worst there is no Court Order that was issued to this effect there being no action that was filed against the plaintiffs. Thus plaintiffs seek the kind indulgence of this Honourable Court to hear this prayer for an issuance Of a WRIT OF PRELIMINARY INJUNCTION in order to prevent this eminent threat and violence to happen;
17. That the applicants-plaintiffs are entitled to the relief demanded, and the whole of such relief consist in restraining the commission of the act complained of within the duration of the trial of this case; That commission or performance of the act complained of during the litigation would work injustice to the applicants-plaintiffs; and lastly, that the defendants who are threatening or is attempting to do some act of ejecting through violence against the plaintiffs would definitely violate their rights respecting the subject of the action and of course tending to render the would be judgment ineffectual;

PLAINTIFFS, through counsel, to this Honourable Court most respectfully state:

19. That all the allegations aforementioned are herein under restated for purposes of claiming damages;
20. That due to the threat of ejectment by way of violence made by the defendants against the plaintiffs, this caused serious anxiety, wounded feelings and sleepless nights to the latter. Moral damages may be charges against the herein defendants and the amount of P100,000.00 would be ample. And in order to protect their rights and interest over the property subject, plaintiff retained the services of an Attorney for a fee of TWO HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND PESOS (P250,000.00). Partial payment of the sum of Thirty Thousand Pesos (P30, 000. 00) has been made and Official Receipt thereof issued by the Sabate Law Office as proof of partial payment is hereto attached as Anned “J “.

That plaintiffs are Filipinos, all of legal age , and with post-office address and maybe contacted at North Poblacion, Maramag, Bukidnon, while defendants are also Filipinos, of legal age, and with post-office address at Unit 1706, North Tower, Lee Gardens, Shaw Boulevard corner Lee Street, Mandaluyong City but they could also be contacted that their lawyer’s address at Monzanto, Gamboa and Sayson Law Firm, Malaybalay City, where they may be served with summonses and other court processes;
RELIEF
2. That plaintiffs are actual occupants of the land identified as Lot 688, Pis 98 Ext. Located at North Poblacion, Maramag, Bukidnon which comprises An area of SIXTY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FORTY SEVEN(63,147) SQUARE METERS for more than thirty (30) years already. Their occupancy is evidenced by the houses they have built in the area subject which are made of permanent materials. And if there is a Certificate of Title that should have been issued, it should have been issued to the plaintiffs;
WHEREFORE, premises considered, it is most respectfully prayed of to this Honourable Court that trial of this case may be had and thereafter a judgment issue for and in favour of the plaintiffs declaring Original Certificate of Title No. 127 in the name of Juan Miranda and CERTIFICATE OF TITLE No. 16001 in the name of Joselito Miranda as fake and void from the beginning and further ordering the defendants to:
3. That however, the peaceful occupancy of the plaintiffs was disturbed because defendants claimed that said land belongs to them. To prove ownership thereof, defendants exhibited their TRANSFER CERTIFICATE OF TITLE No. 16001 and a copy of the same is hereto attached as Annex “A” which emanated from Original Certificate of Title 127 under the name of Juan Miranda. And they threatened the plaintiffs that they are going to forcibly drive them away anytime from now;

Pay the plaintiff the sum of TWO HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND PESOS (P250,000.00) representing actual damage of Attorney’s fees:

Pay Moral Damages in the amount of ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS ( P100,000.00) and
c)
Make the Preliminary Injunction to be in perpetuity.

That in order to preserve their houses and the respective lots that they are occupying within Lot 688, Pis 98 Ext. they researched the veracity and genuineness of defendant’s Certificates of Title. And they found out that the alleged Transfer Certificate Title 16001 in the name of Joselito Miranda emanated from Original Certificate of Title No. 127 which allegedly came about pursuant to Decree No. 14362. This OCT No. as well as the Decree from where said title was allegedly issued is hereto attached as Annex “A-1 “;
5. That said Transfer Certificate of Title allegedly came from OCT No. 127 which came about pursuant to a Decree No.14362 were checked by the plaintiff, through counsel, whether the same is legitimately existing or not. Thus plaintiff, through counsel, requested the PENRO Malaybalay the Lot Disposition Status of Lot 688, Pis. 98 Ext. A copy of the request is hereto attached as Annex “B”. PENRO responded that there is no patent application for the land registration title filed by Juan Miranda involving Lots 688 Pis. 98 Ext located at North Poblacion, Maramag, Bukidnon, while there was on record a Sales Application No. V-7262 of Juan Miranda and the same was subdivided under Csd-10-021691. A copy of the Certification issued by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Malaybalay is hereto attached as Annex “B-1”. 6. That considering the Decree No.14362 as appearing in the Transfer Certificate of Title no. 16001 which gave birth to the issuance of the Original Certificate of Title 127 for defendant, Juan Miranda, it pre-supposes that there was a Land Registration Case filed by the alleged title holder in the Regional Trial Court of Bukidnon, which has jurisdiction over this land subject. To check the same plaintiff, through counsel , asked proof of filing of Land Registration Case filed by Juan Miranda with the Clerk of Court of the Regional Trial Court of Bukidnon. Atty. Renil Gloria Magtulis-Ario. Clerk of Court IV issued a CERTIFICATION telling among others that there was never a land registration action filed by this defendant, Juan Miranda, involving Lot 688, Pis 98. Extension. A copy of this document is hereto attached as Annex “C”; 7.
That the Transfer Certificate of Title 16001 of defendant Joselito Miranda reveals the L.R.C 20-112, Record No. 47, but the certification filed by the Clerk of Court, aforementioned, tells nothing of the existence of this case. And there is no such Record No. 47 found in the Register if Deeds if Bukidnon nor in the main office of the Land Registration Authority. While there is aa record of G. LR. 0 No. 47 this refers to the land which was surveyed for Basilia Pangilin of Barrio of Talon, Municipality of Las Piñas Province of Rizal. A copy of the survey plan is hereto attached as Annex “D” and the No. 47 as Annex “D-1”. Further, Records No. 47 is covered by Decree No. 4803 and not 14362 issued by the Court of First Instance of the Province of Rizal. A copy of the same is hereto attached as Annex “D-2”;
8. That regarding Decree No. N-14362 this does not refer OCT No. 127 of Juan Miranda, but to Cadastral Case no. 83 which was heard by the Court of First Instance in the Province of Quezon. A copy of documents proving the same is hereto attached as Annex “E”and “E-1”
9. That inview of this suspicious Certificate of Title of the defendants, Ma. Theresa J. Allen on September 15, 2015 wrote a letter which was sent to the Administrator of Land Registration Authority (LRA) at Visayas Ave., corner NIA Road, Diliman, Quezon City. Not only that the same Miss Allen on September 17, 2015 wrote a letter also

ORDER When this case called for status hearing this morning, it appears on record that there was Summons by Publication in the Central Mindanao Newswatch which was dated August 26, 2019 to September 1, 2019 and September 2, 2019 to one Juan Miranda in Unit 1706, North Tower, Lee Gardens, Shaw Boulevard corner Lee Street, Mandaluyong City which the counsel for the defendants manifested to also cause the issuance of Summons by Publication in the newspaper of national circulation to include Juan Miranda and/or heirs of Juan Miranda. Finding the same manifestation to be meritorious and sufficient to be granted by this court, the same is granted. Let Summons by Publication in a newspaper of national circulation be effected upon defendant Juan Miranda and/or Heirs if Juan Miranda once a week for two consecutive weeks. Proof of service by Publication shall be attached to the Affidavit.

A Calinan Artist’s Profile: Biography of Juan Carlos Franco Noval Author: DELIA L. NOVAL Teacher II Catalunan Pequeno National High School
Juan Carlos Franco T, Noval is a Calinan base visual artist and sculpture. He was born on February 9, 1980 in Davao City. He studied at the Holy Cross College of Calinan for his higher education and attained a degree of Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English. His parents, Juanito Noval and Emma Tan Noval lavished him with encouragement as to his art. He went to Lt. C. Villafuerte
Elementary School where he participated in almost every plain air activity initiated by Ricard Obenza (Datu Bago Awardee). He took secondary education at Calinan National High School and became classmates. During his college years he helped established the Artists for Christ group of Holy Cross College of Calinan where he helped fellow student artists conduct an exhibit. He hugs the techniques
of the expressionists and impressionists like that of Van Gogh, Renoir, Pisarro, and Obenza. Serving at Kapihan Elementry School with the limited resources improved his sculpting skills learned from Jefferson Bangot. It even served as the turning point of his art career because it was when he was able to sculpt his first bust of Rizal. Maintaining a mindset that art is for everyone, he approaches people around him as artists in his attempt defeat the old paradigm among
many that art is only for those with inborn talent. As matter of fact, he loves posting children’s’ drawings on his FB wall. Currently, he is a DepEd Senior high school teacher at the Catalunan Pequeño National High School. As a sculptor, he is responsible for eight bust sculptures installed in different school in Davao City notably, the busts of Edgar Alan Poe in the grounds of Davao City National High School and that of Don Rafael Lorenzo at the Lorenzo Elementary School in Calinan.
