DAVAO CITY – Mayor Sara Z. Duterte said Tuesday the passage of the AntiTerrorism Act of 2020 will nurture a “culture of security” in the country. In a statement, Duterte said Filipinos should be protected from an enemy “that does not have any regard for life, that only has death and destruction on their minds.” “The history of Davao City has been marred by senseless and violent terrorist acts that have cost the lives of Davaoeños. CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- About P30 million will be allocated by the city government to fund the modular learning program of the Department of Education (DepEd)-10 for the city’s public schools, Mayor Oscar Moreno said, June 16.

“Superintendent Cherry Mae Limbaco mentioned the funding requirement for the program which runs up to P71 million and I told her that the city can budget P30 million (as counterpart),” Moreno said. CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Five family members, including the father, were confirmed positive for the COVID-19 virus after they underwent “swab testing” following the death of the 34-year-old female COVID-19 positive patient in barangay (village) Carmen here, city health officials said Tuesday. Dr. Joselito Retuya, the city’s epidemiologist, reported that the family were confined in an undisclosed isolation unit in the

city after the 34-year-old female patient, a member of the family died of the COVID-19 virus Sunday last week. The 67-year-old father, who brought her daughter to the hospital, was found positive for the COVID-19 virus, a week after her daughter died. The wife and mother of the victim was negative.
