Major political party alliance ready to support Sara for president

AGAYAN DE ORO CITY - With the 2022 elections fast approaching, major political parties, which forged an alliance with the Duterte administration, are now seeking to support Mayor Sara Duterte if she decides to run for president.

No indication of a terrorist attack on the plane - says AFP spokesman

DOH-10 acts on increased cases in Camiguin via boost in detection, isolation

19 cadavers in crashed C-130 aircraft identified

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan De Oro City: Nineteen of the 49 soldiers who perished in a military C130 cargo plane crashed in Patikul, Sulu were already positively, Maj. Francisco Garello, Jr., of the army’s 4ID here said Thursday.

Garello also said that the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) also corrected the previous report of 50 total fatalities citing that there had been a double count.

He said that as of July 7, the total casualties were still at 49.

Identified were Major Emmanuel Makalintal, Major Michael Vincent Benolerao, First Lieutenant Joseph Hintay, Technical Sergeant Mark Anthony Agana, Technical Sergeant Donald Badoy, Staff Sergeant Jan Neil Macapaz, Staff Sergeant Michael Bulalaque, and Sergeant Jack Navarro from the Philippine Air Force.

Also named were Captain Higello Emeterio from the AFP Medical Corps and First Lieutenant Sheena Alexandria Tato from the AFP Nurse Corps.

From the Philippine Army, identified were Sergeant Butch Maestro, Private First Class Christopher Rollon, Private First Class Felixzalday Provido, Privates Raymar Carmona, Vic Monera, Mark Nash Lumanta, Jomar Gabas, Marcelino Alquisar, and Mel Mark Angana.

The AFP has already transported 11 of the remains to their home towns. They were Captain Emeterio, Sgt Maestro, Tsg Agana, PFC Rollon, PFC Provido, Pvt Gabas, Pvt Alquisar, Pvt Lumanta, Pvt Angana, Pvt Carmona, and Pvt Monera.

The remains of 1Lt Tato was transported via C295 aircraft while seven of the identified cadavers were being prepared for air and

land transport.

The AFP Chief of Staff General Cirilito Sobejana said that efforts were still focused on the identification of 30 more cadavers were still in Zamboanga City, and the ongoing investigation of the plane crash.

“This is a very hard task since the cadavers were beyond recognition but we have experts supporting our efforts. We are doing our best to expedite the identification and the ongoing investigation without compromising its credibility,” said General Sobejana.

He asked for the people’s understanding as investigating teams were still gathering more pieces of evidence to find out the circumstances of the unfortunate incident.

“Our people can be assured of the AFP’s transparency, however, the investigation process takes time. All factors were being considered to ensure the accuracy of the findings,” General Sobejana said.

Aggie dept stages 1st Women Agribiz Summit Benchmarking from empowered women of today, the Department of Agriculture (DA) staged recently the first ever Women Agribusiness Summit: “Women in Agriculture Break Barriers”, a town hall consultation, held at the BSWM Convention Hall, Elliptical Road, Diliman, Quezon City and via virtual platform.

Organized by the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Program Directorate Office and Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System, said event highlighted the efforts of women in partnership with DA, its attached bureaus and agencies, including other government agencies in helping them create a mark in the agribiz industry.

Moreover, it forms part as one of the preparatory activities of the 2021 United Nations (UN) Food System under the Thematic Area of GAD to be convened in September, this year.

Manobo-Pulingayon tribe suffering extreme poverty? Why? Some one thousand families of the Manobo-Pulingayon Cultural Community are currently living in makeshift shanties along the highway in Quezon, Bukidnon and these families currently don’t have any source of livelihood, safe shelter, basic services and access to potable water. Their current living condition include consumption of kamote at least once a day for sustenance as they are often than not left with no choice but to eat only kamote due to the lack of financial capacity to buy enough food for their families. To make matters worse, the members of the community are drinking water from the very same river where they are also bathing and as a result, some of the children are having diarrhea. Children are also becoming more malnourished and with their current plight, kids are tied up at night so as to prevent them from running in the highway and from getting hit by the passing trucks and cars.

Why is this cultural community push to extreme poverty? Before I zero-in on the horrible social injustice committed against the Indigenous People, may I first dwell on what is really extreme poverty.

In the book entitled, “Age of Sustainable Development,” the amazing author, Jeffrey D. Sachs, described extreme poverty as a multidimensional concept. Poverty is typically described as the lack of adequate income, but extreme poverty should be understood in more general terms as the inability to meet basic human needs for food, water, sanitation, safe energy, education, and a livelihood. Extreme poverty as described by Mr. Sachs means “lacking modern energy for safe cooking, such as natural gas, with the household instead relying on wood -burning stoves that cause chronically smokefilled homes and the subsequent respiratory diseases in the children. Extreme poverty often means that households cannot secure

decent schooling for their children.”

No doubt, for five years now, the Manobo-Pulingayon Tribe has been living in extreme poverty as they cannot meet their basic needs. For them, life is a daily struggle for dignity and even for survival. Now election is fast approaching.

May I ask, what have the politicians done to reduce extreme poverty? Nothing!

and other educators. This will be achieved by building an online platform that will allow people access to an online platform of like-minded individuals who will guide them on their journey and at the same time dismantle the gender stereotypes of the field.

As they are young and impressionable, it vital that they are exposed to people who made it through STEM courses and are thriving in STEM-based careers.

They are at an age where they are becoming their own person and as such, need guidance and support from the people they care the most such as parents and teachers.

MAPEH is one of the learning areas of the Secondary Education curriculum used in Philippine secondary schools.

Music is an art form whose medium is sound and silence.

Its common elements are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter and articulation), dynamics and the sonic qualities of timber and texture. The word derives from Greek “muses”.

Music and art curricula focus on the learner as both the recipient and constructor of knowledge, skills and values necessary for artistic expression and cultural literacy. The curricula design is student-centered, based on spiral progression and grounded on performancebased learning.

Effective learning occurs through active experience, participation and performance, creative expression, aesthetic valuation, critical response and interpretation. The skills developed include reading/analyzing, listening/observing, performing, responding, composing and creating. From Grades 7 to 10, Philippine, Asian and Western music and art are taught (both history and contemporary).

Meanwhile, physical education is anchored on the tenet “move to learn, learn to move” with the ultimate goal of achieving lifelong fitness.

It promotes learning to use the body in moving efficiently and effectively through body management, movement skills, games and sports, rhythms and dance, and physical fitness.

Group learning is the main approach to organize collaborative learning. There are many collaborative learning methods which also can be considered as group learning methods and popularly used in a classroom-

based environment. A common approach must be found which can be used to stimulate a small learning group based on different collaborative learning methods. On the other hand, the optimal solution is to model any small group learning method.

Some experiences can be applied to the small common group learning process. Collaborative learning is often used as synonym for cooperative learning when in fact, it is a separate strategy that encompasses a broader range of group interactions such as developing learning communities, simulating students and faculty discussions and encouraging electronic exchanges.
