Cag. de Oro’s covid-19 cases surge to 42; but latest victims are all LSI, ROFs By MDN Digital News Team

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - The total number of residents in this city infected and found positive of the deadly coronavirus disease are now 42, the latest of which are from Barangays Kauswagan, Macabalan and Balulang, the City Government reported yesterday. City Epidemiologist Joselito Retuya confirmed during a press briefing today that the latest victims of the virus are two Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) and one Returning Overseas Filipino (ROF). tate the ROFs and LSIs who come from other regions and address their immediate dispatch by their respective LGUs,” Agabe said. The regional director said such challenge needs hand in hand cooperation of the local government units (LGUs) and national line agencies since the facilitation of the returning individuals require strict

observance of health protocols and speedy response of the LGUs concerned for the transfer. was resident of Barangay Kauswagan. He returned to this city on June 2 and was swabbed on June 15th. On June 29th he was confirmed positive by the final test result conducted. The 41st confirmed case was a 20-year-old male resident from Barangay Tablon. He was swabbed on June 29th and his result also confirmed him positive. He is now quarantined at the city isolation unit. SAN FRANCISCO, Agusan del Sur -- In span of three days, 22 more cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were recorded from laboratory results bringing a total of 138 cases in Caraga region. On Friday (June 26), the COVID-19 case surged to 29, one of the two of the highest cases in the region recorded from Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) since the global pandemic began early this year. (DOH-CHD-Caraga) reported of the 22 new cases, 18 are local stranded individuals, two are returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs), one with travel history in Metro Manila and a health worker. DOH Caraga has noted that as of June 29, 10 COVID-19 patients remain positive in the follow up laboratory results while 15 have already turned negative in the SPMC laboratory results.
