MisOr officially kicks off 9th Kuyamis Festival 2022 MISAMIS ORIENTAL -The Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental officially kicked off its 9th annual Kuyamis Festival during its 92nd founding anniversary commemoration at the Provincial Capitol Park, January 10. “Kuyamis Festival is a source of pride and inspiration for Misamisons, for this festival has established a cultural identity of Misamis Oriental, this festival has become one of the great reasons for people to explore MisOr,” said Provincial Tourism Chief and 9th Kuyamis Festival Chairman Jeffrey Saclot. Thanking outgoing governor Yevgeny Vincente “Bambi” Emano for establishing the festival during his term, Saclot shared how they’ve observed a significant boost to the province’s tourism credibility in the Misamis Oriental Gov. 9 dead, 33 injured in a road accident in Balingasag town By JOEL CALAMBA ESCOL Managing Editor and GERRY LEE GORIT Correspondent

BALINGASAG, Misamis Oriental – At least nine persons were confirmed dead and 33 others were injured when an elf truck carrying 42 passengers accidentally lost its brakes in sitio Bagaay, Barangay Baliwagan, in Balingasag town, this province. The identities of those who died and those who were injured from the accident have yet to be verified. Initial investigation from police authorities said the

victims were from barangay Aposkahoy, Claveria town and they were bound for Lagonglong town to have swimming at Del Carmen Resort, when suddenly the truck’s brake exploded, causing the vehicle to turn upside down.
