More ‘friendship routes’ to open in BARMM: LTFRB

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- The Regional Development Council (RDC)-10 sectoral committees vetted a total of P246.03 billion to fund the programs and projects of participating government agencies, instrumentalities, and state universities and colleges during the series of FY 2023 budget hearings cum 1st Quarter 2022 meetings, February 15-18. Said proposed budget more than doubles the amount approved in the General Appropriations of Act of 2022, which allotted P108.59 billion for Region 10. The Infrastructure sector has the biggest share of the allocation at P113.63 billion (46%). The Social sector follows with P97.53 billion (40%), while the Economic and Macro sectors share P26.55 billion (11%) and P8.32 billion (3%), respectively. C AG AYA N D E O R O CITY – More “friendship routes” will be opened in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the head of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said after the launch of the Davao-Marawi route for public utility vehicles (PUVs) in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur on Wednesday. During the event, LTFRB chairman, lawyer Martin Delgra III said they are working closely with the BARMM’s Ministr y of Transportation and Communications, and its regional LTFRB offices to establish the identification of the routes. “We have talked initially with (Marawi City) Mayor (Majul) Gandamra about these partnerships, and now we can see that we can already see (heavy) traffic, and it’s not just about (improving) traffics, we are also going to improve the routes (for PUVs),” he said.
