Slashed budgets of 24 solons reapportioned
HOUSE Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez on Thursday said the budgets slashed from several opposition lawmakers and some members of the supermajority coalition had been reallocated to fund government priorities, such as education and the welfare of cops and soldiers. In a statement, Alvarez said the removed funding will be reallocated to free college education in state universities and colleges and to augment the salaries and benefits of the military and police, “who are See budgets, page 11

gredients harmful to health. “Buy products from reputable sources/retailers,” it said, adding that when shopping for food, buyers should check if they are sold under “hygienic conditions”. Frozen products must be kept frozen and refrigerated products stored in refs. The
area where they are sold must be free from pests, such as rats and cockroaches. Likewise, shoppers must check the products’ packaging and make sure they are not tampered with, the FDA said. For instance, labels should be intact; See FOOD, page 11
