AGAYAN DE ORO CITY: A DNA sample is sent to Manila to determine if the body found floating in the river in Iligan City a month ago belonged to the missing wife of the top executive of the Philippine Veterans Industrial Development Corporation (Phividec) in Misamis Oriental. Franklin Quijano, administrator of the Phividec Industrial Estate in Misamis Oriental, said that his wife Salma Theresa Bersales Gerona-Quijano, 52, “went missing, leaving no clue nor

DOLE-X revives regional committee to combat child labor
THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-X has reactivated the Regional Child Labor Committee (RCLC) to scale-up campaign against child labor in the region. The RCLC is an interagency group tasked to strengthen initiatives and strategies in the delivery of
focused programs that will reduce, if not eliminate, the incidence of child labor in the region. Bong Go, PNP present suspects extorting money from legislators * Suspects reveal connection with opposition ops SENATOR Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, together with Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Oscar Albayalde, Presidential Anti-Corruption (PACC) Commissioner Greco Belgica and Congressman Arnulfo Fuentebella, held a press briefing on Thursday in Camp Crame in Quezon City. They revealed how two men tried to extort money
from him and other public officials by pretending to be Cong. Fuentebella. During the press briefing, Go said that Dennis Jose Borbon and his accomplice, Edgar Bularan, have also victimized several other lawmakers before they sent him a message via the messaging app “Viber”, requesting for financial assistance.
