2 Oro brgys under state of calamity due to dengue CAGAYAN de Oro City-The City Council here on Tuesday (August 13) has placed two urban barangays under a state of calamity due to dengue epidemic. Declared under a state of calamity were barangays Carmen, and Kauswagan, according to a report made by the Power, a daily newsletter of the City Council. The report said there were 1,750 dengue cases and 15 deaths have been recorded in Cagayan de Oro City. There were 196 cases and two deaths in Barangay Carmen. During the regular session of the City Council on Tuesday, Councilor Maria Lourdes S. Gaane, chair of the City Council committee on health and health insurance, said that she is alarmed over the recorded

CAGAYAN de Oro City-Police apprehended a 66-year-old Korean national for alleged possession of illegal substance inside a hotel room in Barangay Lumbia, this city, on Friday. The police identified the suspect as Dong Young Kim, divorced, and staying at the Koresco Hotel in uptown Cagayan de Oro. 3 persons arrested for illegal drugs in campus ILIGAN City--The National Bureau of Investigation – Iligan District Office (NBIILDO) arrested on Wednesday afternoon (August 14) a youtube singer, a salon owner and a minor in two drug buy-bust operations inside the Mindanao State University (MSU) campus in Marawi City.

According to Cogon police station commander Captain Tessie Lleva said Dong is a retired soldier of the Korean Army and has been using his monthly pension for his daily needs here. Lleva said Dong has been known to sell shabu to his compatriots living in the city. The suspect was divorced in his home country, but he reportedly kept a handful of Filipino girlfriends here.
