DA allocates P15-B for 947 rice-growing towns CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- To boost agricultural production and ensure efficiency of farming activities of the 947 ricegrowing towns in the country, the Department of Agriculture (DA) allocates P15 billion for farm mechanization program. Surigao Norte guv orders activation of sea patrols By ALEXANDER LOPEZ

The DENR - Community Environment and Natural Resources Office of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon headed by OIC, CENR Officer Morito B. Estifano (right) and Bio Green Processing and Manufacturing, Inc. Vice President for Operations, Teresita P. Ortiz (left) signed a Covenant of Membership under the Tayo ang Kalikasan movement during a program in San Vicente, Sumilao, Bukidnon recently. A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed stipulating the specific responsibilities of both parties with Bio Green undertaking activities to promote environmental protection and preservation like maintenance of cleanliness of rivers, esteros and creeks and tree growing activities, among others. SEA PATROLS. Surigao del Norte governor Francisco T. Matugas issues Executive Order No. 20-031 on Monday (Aug. 17, 2020) directing all city and municipal mayors in the province to organize or activate sea patrols over reports that sea routes are being exploited to skip the province’s quarantine protocols. BUTUAN CITY – Surigao del Norte governor Francisco Matugas on Monday issued an executive order for local chief executives in the area to activate the “Bantay Dagat” or sea patrols in coastal towns over reports that sea routes are being exploited to skip the province’s quarantine protocols. “Reports came to my office that there are many people who travel going to this province using private or chartered pump boats, yachts, speed boats, and similar sea vessels without following the Covid-19 protocols,” Matugas said.
