LTFRB-10 requires passengers to wear face shield, face mask

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY-The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in Region 10 (LTFRB-10) announced Wednesday (August 5) that it will start implementing the “no face shield, no ride policy” starting August 15. Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Regional Director Aminodin Guro for Northern Mindanao said that effective August 15 no passengers are allowed to board any public utility vehicles (PUVs) without wearing face shield (aside from face mask). Guro said that drivers and operators found violating the latest LTFRB Memorandum circular no. 2020-031 will be fined Php5,000 or revocation of their franchise. Guro said that a driver can now deny a passenger for a ride if that passenger will not wear face shield and face mask. “It is now legal,” explained Guro apparently referring to one of the common complaints against the drivers: Refusal to convey passengers.” LTFRB-10 Transportation Development Officer II Dima-arig M. “Eddie” Diamla said that passengers once onboard a public transport vehicles are no longer allowed to say unnecessary words. Iligan City imposes ‘quarantine passes’ as COVID-19 cases rise By CRIS DIAZ Executive Editor
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Iligan City Mayor Celso G. Regencia has required “quarantine passes” to limit the movement of residents and non-residents here effective Friday. The national InterAgency Task Force (IATF) has placed Iligan City, 88 kilometers west of here, under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) effective June 1,
2020. In an Executive Order No. 91, series of 2020, Regencia encouraged to limit movements, external to home, unless it is for work or to buy necessities, because of the upsurge of COVID-19 through local transmission. For the past two weeks, the local health officials reported on 12 cases of positive COVID-19 patients who are currently quarantined in the city’s quarantine units. He said that EO No. 91
limits the movement of all residents and non-residents within this city by imposing the use of “Quarantine Passes (without color coding).” “Quarantine Passes” shall be used strictly for purchasing essential goods and services, unless there is a need to leave home due to some indispensable reasons and/or emergencies. ILIGAN CITY -- The entire building of the Hall of Justice (HOJ) in Marawi City was closed for four days until Friday, August 7. Executive Judge Wenida Papandayan said the Inter-Agency Task Force in Marawi has ordered the physical closure for an intensive disinfection for four consecutive days because the husband of a staff of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) was tested positive of COVID-19. The PAO is situated inside the HOJ building. Marawi City Health Officer Dr. Ali Dalidig said PAO staff, whose husband is Marawi’s 41st COVID-19
confirmed case (Marawi confirmed case #41), had reported to her office on August 3, the time when the result of her husband’s reverse transcript polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test was released and yielded positive. The PAO staff had interacted 13 colleagues in the office who are all nonreactive of antibodies in the rapid diagnostic test (RDT) except for one who showed positive immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody.
