CIDG confiscates overpriced bananas in Iligan By DIVINA M. SUSON Correspondent

CMU makes hand sanitizers, distributes 113 liters to Bukidnon hospitals By IYREN DALIPE-NERI

Health workers can avail of the daily free rides in Cagayan de Oro, Iligan and Misamis Oriental.

MARAMAG -- Due to the increasing demand for disinfectants in the province, a team of faculty researchers from Central Mindanao University has produced 113 liters of hand sanitizers and distributed them to Bukidnon hospitals and government offices. Dr. Melania Enot, director of CMU’s Natural Products Research and D e ve l opm e nt C e nte r (NPRDC), said that the alcohol-based sanitizers were made using the recommended formulation of the World Health Organization. The sanitizers contain 80 percent alcohol,

hydrogen peroxide, double distilled water, and glycerol. As of April 2, the team has distributed sanitizers to the Bukidnon Provincial Medical Center, Bukidnon Provincial Hospital-Maramag, BPH-Manolo Fortich, Impasug-ong Municipal Hospital, some hospitals in Valencia, and CMU Hospital. They also included the Office of the Provincial Governor, Provincial Veterinary Office, Municipal Agriculture Office-Impasugong, San Isidro Parish, Barangay Dologon, and Maramag and Valencia checkpoints.
