DOH-11 sends 5 nurses to NCR By CHE PALICTE

DAVAO CITY – The Department of Health in Davao Region (DOH-11) on Wednesday deployed five volunteer nurses to the National Capital Region (NCR) to help in the response against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19). In a statement Thursday, DOH-11 said the five nurses would be assigned to the San Lazaro Hospital in Sta. Cruz, Manila from April 14 to May 14, 2021. DOH-11 regional director Dr. Annabelle Yumang said of the five nurses, one is from Davao de Oro and four came from this city. During the send-off ceremony at the Davao International Airport (DIA), Yumang told the volunteer health workers to be extra careful and thanked them for their contribution. “I am thankful that you have volunteered. This is our response to DOH because, during the time that we also needed their help, they too sent us their nurses,” she added. Yumang also reiterated

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Provincial Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano on Thursday ordered a probe on the fire that razed the provincial buildings in the Provincial capitol compound Wednesday night. The Provincial Health Offce (PHO) and the Provincvehiclebineering Office (PEO) were gobbled up by the fire Wednesday evening sending the provincial security personnel and other government offices in the capitol compound on high aalert. “It is deplorable that this incident happened at a time when the provincial health office and the local government units are napping out measures to counter the possible surge of the COVID-19 virus here,” a visibly shaken Emano told the local media here. Emano, however, said that the basic services offered by the concerned provincial offices must continue unhampered while the investigation Is in progress. CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- “There is a need to observe and maintain the vaccination prioritization list, as the country implements the COVID-19 vaccination rollout,” said Dr. Ian Christian Gonzales during the latest episode of Talakayan sa PIA: COVID-19 Series. On the alleged reports of jumping the lines with individuals who were not part of the prioritization list getting the vaccines, the Department of Health (DOH) reminded the public to observe and maintain the prioritization list. Although the DOH is the one handling the vaccination program and training the vaccinators, the prioritization list comes from the local government units, municipal or city. The LGU generates the lists of their healthcare workers and health facilities in their respective places. ILIGAN CITY -- The local government of Iligan through the City Health Office is set to vaccinate the senior citizen group when the immunization of medical frontliners is completed.
