NABUNTURAN, Compostela Valley -- The chair of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) in Davao region condemned the attacks staged by the communist New People’s Army (NPA) rebels at the facilities of Lapanday Foods Corporation (LFC). the Association of South East Asian Nation (ASEAN) Summit. “We sympathize with the victims of these attacks, especially the civilians in the affected areas,” Uy said in a press statement released Monday. LFC on Sunday said hundreds of workers, including their partners, will be affected due to the destruction of their facilities. The NPAs burned on Saturday two facilities of LFC – one, its box plant in Mandug and the other, the Macondry Plastic Plant in Panabo City. They also See attacks, page A2
